"We focus on hacks that pose threats to our customers, partners and products," Kochis wrote. "Our goal isn't to stop every 'mad scientist' that's on a mission to hack Windows. Our first goal is to disrupt the business model of organized counterfeiters and protect users from becoming unknowing victims."

In any fight, you can't take on all at once. You have to face one at a time, or you will be overwhelmed. It is not really surprising that people are attempting to take what is not given. With organized gangs on the net, it would appear that we humans will find every facet of all things or experiences - the good and the bad (and perhaps the 'ugly' as well).
"Discipline is what you do when no one is around" - I read that (or something in that vein) and whole-heartedly agree.
