Hello all,

I to am looking forward to SoaSE since I have not seen any good strategy games for quite some time. I have played the SupCom game and was like most people that I have read about disapointed. I was looking for strategy in that and there was none. Mass arty, AA guns and some quick fire AT units and your good to go. didnt get much into the see game but still it was a huge let down. As for SoaSE it looks good from what I have gathered, which isnt much, they have put some thought into the different sides and that is a bonus. I am looking forward to it and the beta.

Yeah TA on a pentium 90 was pure hell. I can't really remeber if I ran the game in 640*480 or 320*200. I rember thinking 640*480 was really high tech stuff with a gigantic wow factor. I've played the game again in window on my current screen and it's a 4" rectangle now. Leaving the other 26" empty.

I've tested the Supreme Commander Demo in winxp and it's slightly faster than Vista. Still get a slowdown at speed *8 with a lot of units, but that's to be expected.

Back on topic.

I'm hoping for the 16th too. But a more realistic date would be the 19th. I wouldn't want to release a game just before the weekend. If anything goes wrong you can't help people. Then again the SDC is a tried and tested system so I'm not expecting any problems.

Supreme Commander is a joke. Played the demo and it is not what it's being billed to be. For those looking to buy I'd hold off till the first reviews are in.

Any day now, they should at least be announcing when the beta is ours. Unless its pushed back to march, but lets not dwell on that.

Today is the last day of my vacation so considering how my luck has been lately I fully expect it to come out any day now starting Tomorrow.

I thought I'd check the site after a few days of hiatus, hoping to be surprised.

I was a bit, GC2/DA got a few minor updates. I felt a bit gutted there was nothing more.

I just wonder, will it be a beta where you can't talk about anything to any one about what happen in it. Or will we be authorize to actually show some of it to others?

(like... recording a video and putting it on youtube?)

I'm playing a small game those day and it's a beta where you are basically authorize to do whatever you want (there must already be over 250 mods, already...) I think the videos I did of it probably did sell 40 copy more (that I can "confirm" base on my subscriber feedback (it would have been more if many of them had a credit card)).

There won't be any NDA (non-disclosure agreements), so you can take screenshots or video if you want.  You may want to hold off on any modding, however, since formats could change between beta and release.

I personally can't believe the reviews are so high...

After having played CoH, the idea of having to micro manage single units is just absurd in a RTS. Especially in a RTS that is as big in scope as SC is. SC should have gave us preset units...it would have made sense given how big the game enviroment can get and, more importantly, the whole idea of bringing in 'strategic' elements into the tactical game.

If this is the kind of RTS Sins is going to be I'll cry that I pre-ordered this.

Ok, that's good to know, I did many beta in the past and none actually worked like the other, that's why it's alway good to ask and have a clear answer.

No chocolates or flowers either... not even a new wallpaper

Oh they aren't that bad, they are making the game for us after all.

Sorry guys the final betas removed ALL the debug code and had some optimizations in it - this was the code used for the gold master AND the demo.

SupCom handles on the lowest settings fairly descent on anything not a dual core - note if you don't have a dual core or better SupCom just won't run that well. I went to my current system just to be able to play the SupCom beta at the highest settings. It's all about your CPU not your GPU... QuadCore time is here, there just a little expensive at the moment....

And where's my SoASE beta?
quad core time is not here..... there are only a few games out that even support dual core, lol.....

the BETA will be here soon...
