Help Loading New .logonxp

Help Loading New .logonxp

Hi I just downloaded the program I have skinned my desktop and bootscreen the way i like and i just wanted to change my logon screen.

After i downloaded a new skin from wincustomize.com i tried to load it in LS.

Unfortunately when i load it there are no errors but it does not show up in the list. It does however show up right above the list where it says "Current:". The name of my new skin is there but it is not in the actual list and there is no way to apply it.

Any help would be great thanks!

It depends. Sometimes it will ask what I want to do, open with LS or save the file. If I open with Logon Studio, it opens the LS window and shows the new logon in the preview window.

And other times, it won't give me a choice, it will just save it.
That is with Firefox.

I rarely use IE, but the last time I did, it saved the logon as a .zip instead of a .logonxp. And it was one of mine, so I know it was a .logonxp file. Who knows?

Even before these problems it has never asked do I want to open it with LS, nor has it ever gone straight into the active list or preview window. I think I have always done the folder "thing" when it dumped it into a "temp" folder.

Pause

Un-installed, installed LS

Downloaded Onewayout.logonxp......%&@*!!, IT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE ACTIVE LIST AND SHOWS IN THE PREVIEW!! (Friggin' beauty!!)

Wait

ARRRGGGHHHH!! JUST DID THE SAME FREAKIN' THING WITH FF!! Everything worked perfect!!! Winterclear (I love your blue colours!) went straight into LS!! It has never worked that way before, even from the start of using LS. Great!

Re-loading LS (obviously)did the trick. Thank you very much, as always, for your patience!! It's like the Bat-signal, whenever there is a problem, especially in logons, you know Boss0190 will not be long away! Thank you to Bichur as well - you show up everywhere in the forums to help out!

Thanks!
Mark

It's a lot nicer when it works the way it's supposed to.

Sometimes the reinstall works, sometimes not. I doubt they'll ever be an update for the XP Logon Studio, but the beta for the Vista Logon Studio will be out next week.

Now I gotta learn this cr*p all over again!

Glad you got if fixed.

Exactly the same problem, but re-installing it has not fixed it, in the install log I find this line each and every time:

Could not Self-Register: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock\odzip.dll

Now, the odzip.dll is the shared resource that actually unzips the .logonxp files, so I take it for some reason it is not registering... now How do I get it to register, where is it ment to register? any one have any further clues?

Thanks in advance..
