Nope, nothing of the sort, sadly for us.

Makes me wonder about Stardock making this available again...I hope they're doing something to provide support...

But regardless, the game is solid enough.

If you go to the spacerangers2 site, players still go on the forums there, giving hints/tips. Very useful!

We're only providing first-level support (i.e., installation/uninstallation, anything related to purchasing). All other support needs to go through the game's publisher - Cinemaware.

Can someone make a sticky strategy post? Btw, any of the Stardock people here play SR2 religiously as I do?

I've been playing it, but probably not as much as others here since it went live.

Sweet... So, any plans on maybe making a spiritual game based on Space Ranger mix it with Galciv?

Yarlen, just curious.. Are you a developer or one of the support dudes?

Ah, I was under the impression the original publishers would have dropped it, since the developers have split? Unable to provide support?

I think it would be fantastic if Stardock did a spiritual successor. The engine for galciv2 would be amazing since it can be one giant galaxy, one giant dynamic galaxy. Especially with the fantastic AI galciv has.

Does Stardock have any information from Cinemaware that might give an indication on the odds of getting an English translation of the version 1.6 patch?

If there is no chance, then so be it.

I like the game and it is seems to be stable, but it's frustrating knowing there is a patch out there and you can't use it.

Also, should Stardock have not been more upfront about the original development team breaking up? Elemental Games still exists in name, but from what I have been able to gather, they are done with SR2.

It's not very encouraging.

No plans on that, sorry.

I'm the guy who runs TotalGaming.net and gets Stardock's products into retail channels, plus a bunch of related stuff. So basically, I'm the guy who decides which games get added to TGN, I talk to the gang on our forums, deal with some support issues, work with developers and retailers, etc.   I wouldn't say that I'm directly a developer, but I do have some limited input on the process in terms of ideas, what would be good or bad, and stuff like that.

No, but I'll inquire.

As for Elemental Games breaking up, I was not aware of it until just now. It's not that uncommon for developers to disappear after a release, though definitely not good.

Thank you. I, and I am sure the entire community, definitely appreciate the work of all the people at Stardock!

I've heard back and Cinemaware reports that there won't be a v1.6 English patch for Space Rangers 2.

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. Bummer, though.

Nope Yarlen counts as a guru. I however am support. Though as he said we are only Tier 1 support. For full fleged support seek Cinemaware. I have just started playing which is saying something as it is contending with my NwN2 time quite well.

This is a pretty fun game, a shame my Video Card Died right after I started playing it. It is a shame that the developement team broke up but that is life. If anyone finds any neat in game tricks let us know.

I would love to see SR2 as a platform. There is so much more that could be done with it. Wars between the races. Ground combat actually resualting in planet being conquered. Stuff liek that :/ I mean once the Dominators are killed, there shoudl be more.

This may have been asked somewhere and answered, but... I purchased the game from Direct2Drive (IGN). I tried registering the game using the "Registration Info" process and it will not accept my key from IGN. Does that mean that Stardock will not support my copy of the game? Would I be able to see SR2 in my list of "Purchased Games"? Thanks,

We only support 3rd party games that are purchased through TotalGaming.net. If you'd like to be able to download Space Rangers 2 through Stardock Central, you'll need to repurchase it from us.

Hello!

I've been tracking this game since it was mentioned on the GalCivII forums, have played the Demo, and will be purchasing this game in the near future (from Stardock of course).

A few quick questions:

1) I have not heard anything regarding multiplayer. I'm assuming there is none. Would that assumption be correct?

2) Is the version available from StarDock the most up-to-date (patch wise) version?

3) The retail version of the game also shipped with the original Space Rangers. Is that included with the StarDock version being sold?

This game looks great! I look forward to playing it!

1/ Correct, it is a single player game

2/ Well, it is the 1.3 version, which is the latest translated in english if I have correctly understood

3/No. Stardock sells only the digital version of SR2.
