The High Command Hegemony

An Important message from the High Command Hegemony!

The High Command is looking for players to join its empire. My empire is new, no more than a week old, but looking for domination. Anyone who wants to join is welcome, and anyone who posts points I'll make a Senator. For domination through logic, join the High Command Hegemony!

Our Logic is undeniable!

Thanks for joining MarshallONeil! I have already made you a senator. Everyone who joins the empire and contributes points become Senators, I explain why on our forum. We may be the underdog, but we're rising fast. We just broke into the top ten last week, and are now well on our way to taking third. Again thanks MarshallONeil for joining, and come check our our forum!

So how do you get to be a Senator around here, anyway?

It looks like joining is sufficient.

Just stooping by to say hi from the diplomats. It's good to see another empire starting up. I think the competition is good for the game and everyone involved. Good Luck to you all. The MV can certainly be fun and it can be used as a guide to measure your progress, but first and foremost, the game should be fun.

BTW it does seem that you're passing out senatorships like lollipops   . Nothing really wrong with that, it's just a bit different.

Vist Suggestions (Who are we) on our forum, there I explain why I give everyone who contributes to the empire Senatorships.

I meant no criticism, I only meant it as an observation. The concept of making folks feel equal is not foreign to me.

Anyway, as I said before, I just dropped by to welcome you to the galactic neighborhood so to speak, I’m not going to make a habit of posting to your thread. I just want you to know that the Diplomats don’t consider other empires to be our enemies in any sense. The increased competition brings honor to us both.

Thanks for droping by Mumblefratz. Your the first empire to welcome us to the galactic neighborhood. We've been using a shock strategy, that I think kind of took everyone by suprise, especially at the speed we climbed up the rankings. I hope the increased competition strengthens both our empires.

I have tried to register my character and it said I needed to register my serial number. I tried but it said that it was incorrect. I DONT have the collectors edition so I have no idea what's wrong with it.

Hi Alex!!

I found your forum - looks good. I will have to try to play this game. I will talk to Rhonda and perhaps I can pick up a copy tonight or Friday. Take care.

Greetings Alex A.

I joined your empire simply because you seemed very enthusiastic about promoting it. I've only just started posting games to the Metaverse, but I enjoy GalCiv2 alot, and I play it regularly, so I'll be contributing some points to the empire (my character in the Metaverse is "Saladin"). Keep up your positive attitude and The High Command will reach #1 eventually.

Lord Pinko, the best place to get help is through Stardock's tech support. They will have more experience in dealing with character creation issues than the people posting in this section of the forum. The link below is a good place to start.

Support and Bugs

Alex A., I just scanned the member ranks of the three empires ahead of the High Command Hedgemony and found that many of their top players haven't posted new scores since September or August, and that many of their last games were submitted under ver. 1.2 of GalCiv2. I suspect that they may have found the balancing of 1.31 or 1.4 problematic to some of their established techniques for victory. Or maybe they all just went back to school. Since their is a constant degredation of scores over time, Their is every reason to believe that the HCH can eventually become the #1 empire.

RexDaddy: It's nice to have you in the empire!. I have also been looking at some of the other empire's scores, and I've seen the same thing. In comparison, most of the people in our empire have scores from at least October with version 1.31. So I hope we will catch up more quickly! We are well on our way to number 1!

Lordpinko: I'm sorry you're having so much trouble, your serial number should have been registered when you signed up on this website. It has been so long since I did it, I can't quite remember how it all worked, but it didn't seem like it was difficult. I hope it all gets straigtened out.

Lordpinko: One thing I have found about the Metaverse code is that it only works properly with Internet Explorer. If you're using something else, like Firefox, try it again with IE.

Thanks for inviting me a while ago. It got me reinterested in this game. I was all the way up to #3 before, so we'll see what happens!

I get your idea now.

Economic > Research.

Domestic spending 100% supported by strong economic
>
Rsearch at default 67% or whatever % that the weaker economy can support.

+ some interesting strats in forum ive read, leik from first turn,
1) Buy Research lab, Research Speed till impulse drive taking around 5 turns for federalist/economic race, with 3or4 labs bought from $.
2) military and social 0%, with domestic spending 100% until impulse drive.
3) Next to go is ? Sensors!! buy 3 custom survey ship with impulse drive, cost 1k+ each, but can easily earn back from space anomalies.
4) and then onwards to colony ship rush with speed 5/5

Just one last thing, I prefer tech vic games even with lower points, because the kick of this game for me now is only colony rush ; )

Good afternoon! I just wanted to give a congrats to MetalKid for breaking into the top 25 with over 200,000 points. I also want to give a thanks to all that have joined the empire the last couple of days, you have really helped to build our empire. Good luck this weekend.

We're now only about 200,000 points from taking third place, the gap is closing quickly.

Also make sure you stop by our website, and check out the topics over there.

I have tried buying research labs early rather than factory early. That seems to be a wise choice, gets you speed 1 to 2 turns quicker. This in turn allows you to get to those planets quicker.

Do you really nede the extra surveyors, or would upgrading your starting surveyor suffice. I ask, because I never have enough cash/time to do all the things you mentioned AND race for planets.
Now only 150,000 point shy of thrid place.

I always try to buy labs first, Because if I can get a lead in research I can usually overwhelm my opponents. I usually rush for planetary invasion, and miss out on the colony rush.
Interesting; I usually do exactly the opposite! I buy one factory on my home planet, then let all other planetary improvements auto build until the colonization phase is over. Instead, I put the military/social/research sliders at 40/20/40. I let the first few colony ships auto build for one or two turns, then purchase them. On the purchase turn, I drop military production to zero, boosting research to 80% for those turns (just have to remember to switch it back afterwards...).

This gives me a colony ship every two to three turns for a good long while because I'm not spending cash on anything else. Grabbing a few lucrative anomalies stretches it out longer, of course. Once I'm out of money, I switch back to 33/33/34 and let it ride there, adjusting my spend rate to keep the cash flow positive. I've got at least four factories on my home planet by then, so I can still crank the colony ships out quickly.

Remember, every planet you colonize is one less planet that you'll have to invade later!

Once I have built enough patrol boats (usually a tiny hull with a single weapon for orbital defense and general saber-rattling purposes) and constructors, I usually go 50/50 on just social production and research for a while to get myself built up.

On all but the smallest planets, I usually build (in order) two factories, a starport, a third factory, an entertainment building, and then a fourth factory. After that, usually a trade building and a lab or two. Before the population maxes out I build at least one farm, too, because I want to keep adding taxpayers.

Putting the factories and econ buildings before the labs seems to work pretty well for me. If I play with tech trading turned off, it doesn't seem to take me too long to catch up with the AI. With trading on, I just act like a galactic EBay. Everything I get from one civ, I trade or sell to all the others, keeping what I develop on my own mostly to myself.

Well, that turned out longer than I thought it would. If you read the whole thing through, I hope you found something useful in it!

Thanks,

I have been thinking about joining an empire now for a fairly long time. Kind of gets lonely out there all by your lonesome you know? Had some pretty good conversations with some of your members and decided why not. So here I am, ShuShu played a large role.

Glad to be a part of something bigger than myself.

Thanks again, see you out there!
