Unable to log onto forums in FF and IE

Unable to log onto forums in FF and IE

This has been an ongoing problem I have mentioned in other threads. Now, it's gotten worse and it won't go away.

First, when I go to the main page, the resolutuion seems off and it's not centered. Before, I would not be able to sign on when it did this and had to refresh to get it back to normal. Now I can sign on, but it still runs off my screen.

When I try to log into forums on IE and FF, this is what I get.

The little 'nickname' window vanishes after 3 or 4 seconds and I am left with just the regular sign in windows which will not sign me in. I don't get an error or any message, it just won't sign me in.

Now, I have the NoScript extension on FF ALLOWING WC, SD and everything connected. I have ZA and allow all but THIRD party cookies. I have tried shutting both off. I have tried allowing 3rd party cookies. I have tried signing on with my nick and my email. Nothing will sign me inot the forums on FF or IE. None of my settings have been altered in months, except for the things listed that I have tried to get signed on. I'm getting so freakin frustrated with this. It just seems as soon as something is fixed or added or changed, I have new problems or old ones come back. Thids is the only site that I run into these kinds of problems with, the ones mentioned here and then the on and off again avatar problem, quote problem, image link problem...etc.

Please...puh-leeze tell me it can be fixed or it's gonna end soon.

Sorry for the lengthy whine. I realize I have broken my own rule here.

Po, have you tried removing NoScript (and KEEPING it off) and reinstalling Firefox 1.5.0.5? I want to know for SURE that thats not the problem.

I'll give it a go.

I uninstalled NoScript And FF
Reinstalled FF
Reinstalled Java version 5.0 update 6 and verified the install on the Java Sun site

Still have the same problems with logging onto main page and resolution of main page.

Po: you do have .NET framework 2.0 installed, yes?

Give me a shot of the FF Tools/ Options/ Content page and the Enable JavaScript/ Advanced page.

regarding your shot in comment #21 - the polls - I don't get that, I get vote options instead. refreshing 3-6 times sometimes works. else I pull down bookmarks, hit WC again and the page loads with me logged in. Been happening about 3-4 days now.

I'm now getting that error when I try to log in with IE7!! You're right, Po'! If it's not one thing it's another!

If it's not one thing it's another!

I think I'll change my name to Po' Murphy.

In FF/ Tools/ Options under Fonts and Colors/ Advanced: uncheck 'Allow Pages to choose their own font' Re-start FF. Does it fit now?

You are da' man!

Still have the goofy log-on thing going on with the main page, but the resolution is what it should be.
Thank you!

BTW, I like my Compaq.

Hey PO I have an idea try deleting wincutomize from your allowed script site lists, shut down and reboot, fire up FF again reconnect to wincusomize and add the site back to your allowed script site list. Could be when they changed Wincustomize your script blocker isn't functioning correctly anymore. I can login to the site using both FF and IE7. On second thought looks like you found the main problem. I have FF set to autolog me in on this site and it works fine.

As do I. I think.
I have the password saved in the FF password manager, and it fills it in for me, but doesn't actually log me in.

Around the time all this started, I began having to log-on everytime I came to WC. Previous to that, I only had to sign in again if I had run CCleaner or cleared my private data.

I have already uninstalled the NoScript extension and FF and reinstalled them. I have now added the FF extension 'Venkmon', which is a JavaScript Debugger.

Hey Po, you should make that yrag image in post #60 into an avatar for him.

I'm just happy to hear it worked out. Come to think of it, when I first started using FF I had to change one of the default settings. You're right IE 6 logged me straight away in and with FF I have to hit go or click on Forums and the auto login completes. By the way I really love my HP Pavillion, it comes with 1 year 24 x 7 online chat support. They've helped me a couple of times when my registry needed tweaking with regedit to fix some problems. Still trying to solve why my default email keeps being reset to Outlook Express after I set it to Mozilla's Thunderbird (on reboot and startup). Must be something in startup registry that's not being changed.

It should be noted that IE7 is a beta product and it's behavior cannot be considered stable or predictable. I'm following the conversation thus far, but I'm pretty baffled by the pelethora of whacky errors PoSmedly is seeing on his machine.

Any luck as yet, Po?

FF get's me on...haven't tried IE7 to get in...i love Opera, but it doesn't work to log on. Just like Po' said...nothing works. I hit the "wand" get on for about 1 second and then it reverts to the default screen as if i never logged on.
