uhm... so sorry for being an idiot here :/ Where do i put the mod so that i can play it? i put it in the mod directory of galactic civ (i have dark avatar but there was no mod director) but the mod does not seem to be showing up even though i have mods enabled in the options.

Make sure that in the Options Menu the directory for Mods is pointing to the right place. I forget exactly why, but some people end up with it pointing towards ...\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods and others have it point towards ...\GalCiv2\Mods - there are two ways of fixing this, but I prefer this method:
XP Users:
USERNAME\My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar
Open the "Prefs" file with NotePad.
Look for the line that starts : "ModsDir=" its a little less than half way down the document and change it to read
"ModsDir=C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods"
VISTA Users:
USERNAME\Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar
Open the "Prefs" file with NotePad.
Look for the line that starts : "ModsDir=" its a little less than half way down the document and change it to read
"ModsDir=C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods"
The alternative is to do this:
C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar
and create a New Fodler and title it "Mod" and place the mod in that folder as well.
Both Dread Lords and Dark Avatar can share the same mod sub folder apparently and as long as that "ModsDir=" line is pointing to the right area it can be placed whereever, but its best to keep it where it is as thats the default.
