LONDON - The International Tennis Federation sent condolences to the Iraqi Tennis Federation on Tuesday following the deaths of a coach and two players in Baghdad.

Gunmen shot and killed coach Hussein Ahmed Rashid and players Nasir Al-Haram and Wissam Adel Auda on Friday, reportedly because they were wearing shorts. Police believe the attack was related to a warning by Islamic extremists against such attire.

People murdered for wearing tennis shorts. We expect to reason with such monsters? These were men wearing shorts BTW, Typical attire for tennis matches.

I don’t see how it would be possible to hold them to the same standards as us. Because of their fundamentalist beliefs they have remained an infant society and have not grown in wisdom like a free modern society like ours allows. So I accept their behavior about like how I accept bad behavior from a child.

And yet, we cannot kill them when they kill us, as we are held to a higher standard.  That is the slippery slope you traverse.  You stated as much.  Sorry if I dont go to your funeral pyre.

Well, don't forget, these are the same types of people who:

Were angry at their daughter's death because she went and blew herself up as a martyr. They weren't angry that she killed herself and other innocent people, no; they were pissed because she brought shame and dishonor on the whole family because she impudently left the house without her father's permission.

These are the same types of people as:

The mother who's raised her three sons to be suicidal terrorists because she "wants to be the mother of a martyr".

These are the same types of people who:

Stoned a woman to death because, one, she dared to show her bare hands out from under her burkha, and two, and most egregiously, was wearing nail polish!

This happened on an average city street, which led me to wonder how many actual "fundamentalists" or "extremists" were in the crowd that killed her. This, in turn, led me to wonder if it's not true, then, that ALL Muslims are, in fact, fundamentalists and extremists.

The only way we can reason with people like this is to send them up in a radioactive mushroom cloud before they can do it to us. Plain and simple.
