[FR] Transparency/Opacity map map support, please

Id just like to make a feature request, that i have honestly, no idea how tough it would be to code in, but it would allow for some really striking ship and component design. I would love to see support for transparency/opacity maps on the models put in. That way, components with complex, broken shapes could be put in, without having to actually resort to the prohibitive amount of geometry it would take to model them....and also, semi transparent "energy field" effects could be added to the models.

Once we have this, we'll talk about real time displacement

why not just ask for them to expose the shader code as scripts? then we could write 72 stage procedural water effects...
