Good morning Diplomats...

Just dropped game 3, a tech victory, for 34K. Tough, 9 years, huge, 9 AIs, abundant everything, and normal tech rate. I now have 3 of 4 victory types. Mil is next on the list.

I'm also thinking about picking up the 1.1 beta. Any thoughts?

Game 10 in. 122k. Huge w/ default settings. Painful/Mil Conquest. 10 Yrs. Now to see if there are any updates...

I think I can put my "alleged" game three up to victim of the ctrl-n issue. (I am quite sure I was not stupid enough to repeat the mistake I made the first two times I played GCII.)

That having been said, I am currently involved in a Military only campaign on Crippling, and I expect it shall be another 10 days before I can complete it...we shall see.

Well, they've fixed that in the 1.1 beta by forcing you back to the metaverse login dialogue as soon as you hit ctrl-N.

Currently trying out the beta - quite a few differences, will post an AAR over at the Core once I've got a game finished.

e-stab, I can manage all common OK, but it dies if I try abundant everything - P4 3.2Ghz, 2Gb RAM, XFX Geforce 7800 GS Extreme - so I hate to think what you actually need (got to be a dual core CPU at least).

Divide your specs by two and you have mine more or less.
Well, I won't be "extreme metaversing", I guess, but regular submissions will be a pleasure.

There are no problems submitting with the 1.1beta, right? I'll probably play a nice game on "tough" or "crippling" tomorrow just to try it out and have some fun.

Remember that the beta is a beta and there may be bugs that keep you from finishing a game. If you only want to play and enjoy the game, don't play the beta.

I have gone to the "dark side" in game 3. (First time I've tried this in either GCI or GCII.) Unfortunately, I got nailed with the UP event that limits the number of trade routes for "evil" civs, they voted for 1. Can you tell me, Magnum or any other, if this is a 3 or 4 year event or will it be game long?

Full game, I think. Had it happen to me once, but my economy was already well developed so it had very little effect (trade was only about 1500 income out of a total of 60K+). At that point you might as well leave the UP altogether and get to ignore all their silly little rules.

Yeah sure, I know.

I only wanted to know whether beta games are allowed to be submitted in general. Nobody complained so I think it's okay - I'll leave the Torians out because of their pop growth bonus which seems to make (too) much of a difference.

Well, DaMoose. It looked like you fell back across the edge to post 200. Perhaps some one deleted their post and cause the resuffle. You might want to check and see if the Exaulted Druid was doing funning thinks arround the time of the Solstice.

The galaxy called me today and I started a game (well, after doing some work, at least) - but then it kept crashing (1.1 beta version)! Must be Stardock's way of keeping me at my desk (and the computer off!).

Indeed it is e-stab... Haven't you noticed all the 'odd' looking 'people' spying on you? I'm sure they're looking for any new tech toys you've got and they need to keep you off the computer so they can raid it for all that cool research you've got hidden on it. Hope you got good encryption gear.
