The culture victory video is excellent. Besides that, the species communication and the text that pops up after you finish research are good fun.

The drengin called me a cheese eating surrender monkey about 2 hours ago. Cheeky little evil things.

LOL. That's not a phrase I've ever heard before....

Heres an amusing dialogue screen I got from the drengin, after they attacked me, and met my large hull warships:

I just hit the fourth Campaign mission, and it appears someone at SD is a fan of my favorite game.

So, do I have to research Bum Rush now?

I can't seem to find were the screens are stored. I'v looked around and could not find them( which is really strange for me). Can someone give me the directory. Thanks.

Big96d:

AFAIK you have to just do it the "old-fashioned way"... hit the PrintScreen button, then paste the result into your favorite image program. No auto-image save within the game itself, I don't think.

It took a bit of tweaking to figure out how to make cylindrical hulls and the 2001 wheel to lay flat. Here are some of my Class Zero stock replacements. The Lance is a light fighter hull waiting for weapons. The Explorer is a sensor ship with the same sight bubble as your flagship. The Pioneer is a fast colony ship, which might undergo a hull revision to make it look less like a shark. The Worker is a Constructor with a greater range than the flagship. If these designs taught me anything, they've taught me that "less is more".

The Explorer and Worker are very cool designs Doronron...

Btw I wish I received dialogue popups more often.
How come the Drengin never ask me for peace ?
Maybe I wipe their buts too fast

Thanks, SA. Not surprising you like the Explorer and Worker designs the best. They're part of the latest batch I made. Hopefully, I'll continue to improve.

Oooh, me likey. How did you do that cylindrical bit on the Explorer?

In the shipyards extras section, there are these little ring "aerials" near the top of the list. I flipped them upside down and resized several close together to properly mesh.

Another ship, with more to come...

This is the front of the base Battleship template. It's got a lot of hardpoints here for all kinds of nasty weapons.

This is the side. It's got a utilitarian feel to it. Slightly naval, but definitely adapted to space.

The back of the ship shows the massive engines necessary to push this thing. You'll notice it also flares out a little here.

And finally a long shot from the bottom up. Human hulls can definitely be long and THIN if done right.

Wow. Messed that up. And no edit in sight. Well, it's called the Lucky Ranger:

72 hp
25 beam attack
17 beam defense

All the human ships are lasers so far. Worst I've seen is a 2 attack no defense frigate. This baby might tip the balance a bit...

LOVE those Lucky Rangers! The last game I played (my 2nd overall,) I found no less than 12 of those suckers. I started putting fleets of 5 together to pull me out of a prolonged (and losing) war with the Altarians. Nasty, nasty cruisers.

Nothing like 175 points of mass drivers in a first shot!
