Why Bush 41 was Upset with Criticism of His Son George

Why Bush 41 was Upset with Criticism of His Son George

Because it happened at a funeral, denigrating the dearly departed

In answer to the Clueless One (and his newly popping up clones) utter glee at George W. Bush being denigrated and insulted by the participants in the funeral of Coretta Scott King, and then having his father, former President George H.W. Bush, decry that behavior, I'll offer equal time and space to the truth, which the C.O.L. has again ignored.

The C.O.L., continuing to be mad at the world and all things Bush, sits back and shows himself to be an utter ignoramus when it comes to what should be expected to be proper behavior at a funeral. I'm betting that the Clueless One probably loved the Senator Paul Wellstone funeral a few years back, even though it was believed to be part of what accounted for the Senate falling back into the hands of the GOP, even more solidly so in the time since.

Apparently liberals are primarily bereft of good taste, manners, and etiquette. A funeral may be a place for celebration, but it's not a place where the general public will ever accept insult and defammation of others, even if some in attendance cheer and egg on such behavior.

This was supposed to have been a funeral for Coretta Scott King. A woman worthy of high praise, and whose accomplishments are worth celebrating. But also a woman that was married to a man -- that despite his own flaws -- believed in fighting the good fight, in the right way. He accomplished many of his goals by arguing the right way, by using civil disobedience and other non-agressive means of getting what he wanted done. He didn't attack others personally, he attacked their flaws, and inspired everyone to dream bigger, reach higher, and do more.

Sadly the C.O.L. and many like him can't dream bigger, reach higher or do more, for they are low life pathetic liberal scum that have no goals other than to rob from the rich and give to the government, and then cry because the government isn't doing enough, is creating even bigger deficits because of bigger spending plans that aren't the right priorities for anyone.

I note that on the Clueless One's current article he didn't even bother with the whining hypotheticals... No "WHY" for this one. The reason -- quite simply, is the WHY I've documented here above ^^^.

What's with your fascination with the word "assume" today?

George HW Bush's criticism of Carter, etc, was wholly appropriate, if not a little late. Frankly, the King family should have escorted Carter, et al, out the door, for their shameful exploitation of the King matriarch's memory. Every word Carter said about Bush would be wholly appropriate (although POOR political decorum, to say the least), in another forum...somewhere that was NOT someone's funeral. When I die, I want a standing order...if someone uses the pulpit at my funeral for political advantage, have 'em shot...it's not the place for it!

I'm betting that the Clueless One probably loved the Senator Norman Coleman funeral a few years back, even though it was believed to be part of what accounted for the Senate falling back into the hands of the GOP, even more solidly so in the time since.

I think you're talking about the Paul Wellstone funeral. Norm Coleman is alive and well. In fact, saw him berating Michael "Brownie" Brown on TV just Friday.

For the public's benefit, Paul Wellstone was a Minnesota senator who died in a plane crash during his reelection campaign in 2002. His funeral turned into a Democratic Farmer Labor Party (the MN name for the Dem party) rally, a stepping off point for the abortive and short-lived "return" of Walter "Fritz" Mondale to the public stage. Many people were outraged that the Wellstone funeral was turned into a circus.

Paul Wellstone:

Excellent article and very informative.

Thanks for the correction Dave, yes, it was Wellstone that I meant to refer to. Will update the information above.

For the Bush supporters, no time, place or person that points out how Bush has failed as President is appropriate.

don't appreciate bringing people's mothers into arguments where it has no place

Which makes me wonder: How did the King family feel about what happened? Were they complicit in the hijack? Did it bother them at all that the funeral turned out to be about George Bush & not their mother? That Reverend Joe turned up on all the talk shows, speaking not about their mother or MLK, but about his comments on WMD?

Oh, I don't know, Gene. There seems to be no dearth of criticism of Bush, here or elsewhere. The only thing inappropriate is "mindless" criticism, something at which you are expert.

I'll get back to you on this, but in the meantime would you kindly point me to any "blustery statements and accusations" I made.

Interesting that Davad has yet to do what he said since this was posted. I guess DrGuy was right when he said this:

Yea right. Like all the other failed promises of you and your ilk?

And then a back and forth argument. You 2 really love each other don't you?

I do wanna understand why is it wrong to not like MLK Jr and what he stood for? I mean don't we have the right to question his motives or his ideas? Just because he did some good things for black people we are supose to love him? I don't get it. Not that it matters.

But the truth is the truth and a funeral is not the place for political bashing or advantage for that matter. A time when a person gets more respect, love and attention than all the years they were alive. Sad if you ask me.

Is bashing all you know? Can't you just simply answer the question? Do you not believe it was wrong tospeak about Bush at this womans funeral or is you hatred towards Bush so strong that you don't care who gets hurt in the process so long as you get your point across? Everyday you sound more like a terrorist Col, talk about selfish.
