George Bush... Is he the anti-Christ?

I think not.

Wednesday in my first period art class… our little table had a discussion on politics/The anti-Christ. Now, I am a person who is very open to ideas and wont shun off another persons belief… but this really got to me.

Andrew says that George Bush is the anti-Christ… ok, that is a very controversial statement.

It is possible for George Bush to unite the world and beat the shit out of Israel… But why would he? The anti-Christ is suppose to “appear” out of no where… he was the former president Bush’s son (Meaning, he was brought up… not appearing out of no where). He is also supposed to be very attractive… that explains itself. George Bush is not the anti-Christ.

I like George Bush as a president… sure there are some things that he has done that were not that smart… but fuck, he is only HUMAN! We all make mistakes. I guess it is a subconscious feeling that everyone has that tells us the president should be fool proof, but it is impossible! Let’s say you were president, and you made a mistake… would you want extremely angry people up your ass not giving you a chance to redeem yourself?

He is helping another nation achieve a democracy… sure there are people getting killed, but put that up against the amount of people that the Al Qaeda killed! (And that is also part of war…innocent people get killed). Just like all the innocent people that the Al Qaeda killed in the World Trade Centers… and they didn’t even kill them to help our country rise, they wanted to see it fall. But we are in the Middle East for a cause… to HELP them. And we are.

I want opinions…

tell me about it, i went to a punk show with andrew once. it was scary, they hate the government, they hated me cuz i didn't walk, talk, dress, or think exactly like them. This emo band tried to stay good stuff about Pres. Bush and they threw stuf at them! which made the poor emo kids even more emo. It was brutal. they even scared away the fat tones. which made me emo.
but anyway, i like pres. bush. i think he's there for a reason.

Bush claims that he supports Christian values, yet as governor of Texas, he has executed more people than any other governor since capital punishment was reinroduced in the 1970s and earned the nickname "Texecutioner." Doesn't the sixth commandment say something about no killing?

come on man , what do ya do when a jury that has power to impose death do??? pat the murderers on the ass say good boy and lock em up for ever? at the expense of about 50 thousand a year?

Being a Christian does *not* mean you have to be against capital punishment. The 6th commandment has nothing to do with this. BTW the bible also says "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth".

I am for capital punishment, but a financial backing of it cannot pass muster. It costs alot more with automatic appeals and the process of execution to execute than to put in for life.

Excuse me, then what part of the bible are the 10 commandments from? I think you'll find they are from the *old testament* also. So the quotation stands as is. And just an FYI, I did say specifically the "bible" not the new testament. Now the "bible" does contain both old and new testaments, but I guess you must have forgotten about the money lenders in the temple.

Sounds to me like the men on Earth here are trying to determine if their president is a Christian....
I sure wouldn't be looking at one man's problems when I've got enough of my own.

I mean .... Democracy is still here..... it hasnt been eliminated.........

What about a little thanksgiving here eh ? At least we're still here and standing strong eh.

Jesus preached a new way of doing things because so many had misinterpreted the old testament. The 10 commandments was not one of those that he had touched upon. Do you wash your feet before you eat? You know that's in the old testament.

Take a note from the rest of the world, Bush is the anti-christ! But he is only the anti-christ in terms of holding ideals that are the opposite of what Christ embodied (even though he uses his name).

"Sure he's done some things that are not smart" - that's an understatement if I've ever heard one. People have filled large books with just stupid things that he's said - and done - those silly Bushism books. (He does say alot of foolish things) You would think the most important part of being a good leader is excellent communication skills -NOPE.

The problem is when he does make a mistake and everyone recoginzes it as such, Bush and his cronies will deny deny deny. And I've heard over and over again people in your media refer to this as a virtue?????? I refuse to regonize the inability to admit wrong doings and the inability to compromise with other nations and just being a hard head in general as a virtue. On the other side of the coin, Patriotism and Nationalistic Pride, sadly, has become so predominate in your nation that questioning any govermental authority is frowned upon (just like the church). I see this pride in ones nation, firstly as silly, because most people don't choose to be american, and secondly, it's like being proud that your not other nations so you become a conceited nation. It's also like being proud that your white because of course being white is the best (sarcasm).

What they have right now is more of an anarchy then anything else. And why does everyone assume democracy is some unquestionable good? Another one of the problems is no one over there in the USA seems to want to question WHY there are so many terrorists targeting them or why so many foreign nations have such a low opinion of your policies - actions - your desire to push your views on the rest of the world and in a violent manner.

NOt only in the wars but as an executioner in Texas. He set some kind of record kill prisoners over there and the people loved him for it. That goes to show a very sick mentality that does not hold with any Christian tenets such as "Judge not lest..." or "Love thy enemy" or compassion or love or anything Christ stood for. I'm not Christian but I feel I follow Christ teachings better then Bush, or most so called Christians. But I guess they are Christians just because they follow whatever that political machine called Christianity tells them instead of interpreting Christs words with there heart.

"Middle East for a cause… to HELP them." - Your in the middle east because Bush had an agenda before he was even elected. YOu heard him "THEY tried to kill my daddy". There are lots of countries with corrupt, evil leaders (yours not excluded), and because he was able to confuse the amercian people (2/3 thought Iraq had something to do with 9/11) he went in - and oh, just coincident, Iraq has tons of oil and America is running out.

When will humanity learn that war CANNOT create peace. Ever try to lite a smoke with an ice cube?

Let me let you guys in on a little secrets.
- America has more weapons of mass descruction than any other nation.
- America has used these weapons more often than any other nation - don't forget Hiroshima
- America has military bases with war capablities in something like 50+ nations all over the world to keep in the front of our minds the power which you wield and will obvious use - sometimes without much though or for hidden reasons.

Depends on which Testament and guy your listening too. In the Old Testament this is definetly the type of policy that is adapted although he doesn't use that particular staement. In the New Testament Jesus actually refers to Hammurabi's code and says if somone slaps you in the cheek turn the other one so that they may slap you again.(or something like that)

From what I can find on the web your wrong. First off he was executed for the torture and murder of a 75 year old woman (that in itself would have been enough to for me to pull the switch.)

The Vienna Conventions have to do with diplomats of foriegn countries, not drifters.

LIsten to Rich for a little while, you'll hear BS from the other side of the spectrum. Perhaps you may not think it's BS...

Unless Andrew was dead serious about what he said, and he gave his own opinions (disguised as facts) as to why he's the anti-christ, he was probably just exaggerating his hate for our CiC. Of course the president is human, and yes we do all make mistakes. Not massive mistakes. For example, I see the average human mistake as being locking your keys in your car, forgetting to meet a work deadline, or forgetting an important date. Knowing the truth, blatantly disregarding said truth, and pretending your own vendettas are the truth, however, is not your everyday mistake.

mismos, questions are for terrorists, didn't you know that? Government is infallible, learn the way of the lemming.

The Anti-Christ ?..... well it's a toss-up between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. An American President would never qualify as the Anti-Christ because they don't be in office that long .... I think the President who was in office the longest FDR (Rooseveldt ) was considered the Anti-Christ by American conservatives who opposed the war against the Nazis and the Japanese.

Well, I don't like the guy, but I think that might be stretching it a bit. Napoleon and Hitler were supposed to be "antichrists" too, and I think those guys were worse.

Needless to say, I am adamantly against the death penalty. Sure, there are people who do not deserve to live. But, the cost to society is way too high to have a death penalty. It serves no purpose other than to make some victim feel "good", and too many people are wrongly put to death. That, in and of itself, is reason enough to ban this horrific and barbaric form of punishment.

As for Christ being the anti-Bush........................ oh... wait a minute.....................
