I doubt spore will make a fall launch. The 30 min video demo of the game with will wright is very very impressive. Like BLOW your freakin MIND impressive, but the game is definately a sandbox game like the sims...so if you hated the sims you will hate this game too. Will and crew said they are still working out what to do with somethings, especially the Galatic level of the game isn't feature complete yet. The game might be out in time for Christmas...but probably not. Spore is definatly a land mark title(if not perhaps the most ambitious title ever made) that will pave the way for future titles. There is some incredibly cool technology going on in that game that I have never seen done before anywhere.
Galciv2 has a good chance for best Turn Based Strategy game of the year, but as over all game of the year....sorry no.
