The AI's speed is directly linked to the difficulty level. A pushover candidate will take a few turns to see the ?'s, where a difficult candiate will jump on those like a starving pit-bull. At first it may seem to detract from the strategy of the game, but as long as youre on the look out for those puppies when the turn advances, you should be all right. Plus I think it ads some excitement to the more methodical pace of the game play. You suddenly h

Tyveil's correct...when a turn spawns interviews, it makes one fo the democrat, one for the republican. Look at the color of the TV Camera for a quick indication of who the interview is for.
Play through the "Quick Play" mode. There you'll have full control over all the aspects of the game, as well as who you'll be playing against. Campaign Mode sets you up automatically with your opponents, and lets you unlock the more powerful candidates available in the game.
Link To add to what Tyveil posted, folks who order the game will have the ability to Download it from Stardock Central up until we get the boxes to ship. Following that, we'll be simply sending out the Boxed versions and the downloadable version will only be available on TotalGami
1. We'll look into that one. Could we also get your other system specs? 2. I've logged a bug internally where this will occur when loading a game where things are going on in the smaller states, but It's neverhappened in the middle of a game. Perhaps these two buglettes are related
There's been talk on getting that feature in for an upcoming patch, perhaps even for 1.02. SO yes, it's definatly do-able, but will take a bit of work to get in.
The AI should be paused when popups have focus...if they're still flying around the screen when the Weekly News report is unhidden at the beginning of the turn, then that'd be a bug. As for the game-dynamic of having to be the first to reach the special event, it really comes down to preference. You see that ? just popped up, so do you leave your current
As for those looking to purchase the game, but not having luck at the local stores, this Forum Post should help clear up any confusion.
To the Folks looking for the Demo: We've shipped a "release candidate" of the dem out to UbiSoft, so once they've tested and given it the thumbs up, you'll probably be able to get it at their site, amongst others. At the moment, however, no demo is available for download.
For anyone looking for some multiplayer challenges, there's a #politicalmachine room that's accessable via Stardock Central. There'll be Stardock team members online for technical support, as well as other gamers looking for an online political showdown. To get there, just folow these simple steps.... 1. Open up your copy of Stardock Central (if you're playing with a boxed version, and need SDCentral, go to https://www.stardock.com/p
Er...I should note..."That's Awesome" refers to liking the game, not to the CTD We'll try to figure out that problem asap (and thanks for posting thurough system specs)!
Thats awesome...I know the more I understand it, more more exciting each game becomes. I'd really like to see a 'Training Guide' made for entry-level political junkies, 'cause you really need to understand the political parties before you can become a formidtible opponent in TPM. Though, I'll admit, knowing that to use as a platform is only half the battle <img src="../images/smiles/
Around the office we'll be checking for the game on local store shelves (much of the box-art contains work from 'yours-truly', so I'm exceptionally excited to see the final copy). EBGames said the 11th as well (in South East Michigan), so hopefully we'll be seeing it today!
Haha yeah, that was snuffed out a few builds back...though it did make for some enjoyably crazy games.
Hey dtskp, Sorry this is happening on all your computers. Here's my suggestion until the programmers can figure out a better solution. 1-In the "PolMachine\Data" folder there's a "Prefs.ini" file. Open that up. 2-Search for a value named "SkipIntro" that is probably set to '0' on your game. Set that to '1'. 3-This will skip the animated intro to the game. If the game still crashes, please use the above link to repor

http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/politicalmachine_pc.htm Ubisoft is currently in the process of Manufacturing the Political Machine for store distribution. It's still slated for a mid-August release, but at this point it's out of our hands. You can, however, still access the final beta build if you've pre-ordered the game.
