Sorry about the inconvenience...we're looking into possible causes at the moment. Could you post your system specs, and in the meantime, set the "ForceTextureUpdate" tag in the "Prefs.ini" file to "True". This will recalculate the textures (which may be the source of the problem).

You need to make a 211x256 PNG image of yourself, then plop it in the "politicalmachine/gfx/candidate_images/" folder. Then, next time you start the game, you can create a custom candidate with your likeness in the game! Note: To ensure a female candidate uses a female icon on the map screen, start the filename with the word "Female".
Unfourtunatly you can only start Advertisements in the state you're currently visiting...otherwise there was some major cheese going on with players flinging ads across the country (from one solitary location) in the last few turns.
This appears to be an issue with the Chamber of Commerce. We're tracking down the bug at the moment, and will have a fix ASAP.
We're looking into this issue. Have any of you guys updated to the latest patch, or is anyone playing off of TotalGaming.Net?
If you contact support ([email protected]) they should be able to help your problems.
This is an overall score of how your candidate is doing in that state. Think of it as his score...if you start dropping, it meens you did something wrong (or the otehrguy did something right)
You should be able to copy over just the *.PMSAVE files and they should load correctly on the new computer.
If you're loading a saved game from 1.0 in your 1.01 build it'll still give you that bug. You'll have to start a new game in 1.01 for the correct data to be included in the saved game file.
Sorry, established. We're looking into it. That problem seemed to be linked with WinXP, but now we need to formulate a new hypothesis
I beleive it needs to come up on a TV show before it's even on the voters radar. Once you have a chance to anwser a question with a spin on aliens, the issue becomes more important and be advertised and spoken about.
Still being play-tested over at UBISoft. And yeah, most of the stores I've been to in South-East Michigan have had the game in stock for 20 bucks, so if you're itching to play it'd definatly be faster just to go buy it...unless they put out the demo today, of course
One of the guys here in the office had a widesceen Toshiba laptop that we'd test the game on quite reqularly, which would stretch to fix the window, but play fine otherwise. Try setting your res to 1024x768 (of the nearest widescreen alternative) and running the game with the 'w' paramater (for windowed mode). Lets see if that gets the game running.
It was a map-display choice. With all the icons that could be displayed on a state, we had to make "Extended" versions of the smaller New England states. These are all on the coast, where-as WashingtonDC is inland, making it tough to make an extended version that makes sence to the user. It just made more sense to roll those electoral votes into Maryland and make the process easier </f
Afraid you can't get around the 1024x768 resolution. Looks like you'll be playing PolMachine on the small screen
I'm not going to speak for Brad (the creator of the game), but while working on it, I felt we were making more of a game than an election simulator. We tried to make sure the data we were using in the game was as accurate as possible, but in the end it came down to "Will this be fun to play?", not "Is this as realistic as possible?". In the end, I feel the game works well as both...a fun game to pick up a play, as well as a too to inform and
You should be getting about 3-5 invites per game. Make sure you're watching out for the random Television Camera's to pop up. Each invite will only last a week, however, so you have to snatch it fast
A bug was discoved in the 1.0 build where saved games wouldn't remember if they were a campaign game or not. Thus, you could only win a Campaign if you played from start to finish. This is fixed in the upcoming patch. If you're on TotalGaming.net or preordered the game from us, you should be able to update using Stardock Central to the fixed version. If you have a boxed copy you'll have to wait for the UBISoft cerfitied patch to be released
Yes, the problem is being resolved as we speak Thanks for all your help with this one guys...it's very much appreciated!
OK, we're looking into jscott's file. Carter definatly kicks some arse in the last quarter...quite frustrating We'll keep you guys up to date (and thanks for the save game file, jscott, it should lead to the answer)
jscott: We'll look into that saved game of yours. I can honestly say that I beat Carter with a custom player, but I ididn't get much farther than him. I'm bummed my hypotheseis on the "smrear/spin" wasn't right ah well..back to the drawing board.
When you get something happening that dosent look right (like the above situation in FL) could you send a save game file to [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. As a player that is also getting consistantly trounced in the game, I can understand the frustration of getting beat and not understanding why...hopefully we can shed some light on Carter's "late blooming" <img src="../images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddl
While I can't say for certain without seeing the map, I can tell that you have the difficulty level set at a decient level (Buch is seen using Political Capital, something easy candidates don't use much). My guess is that he used the ol' "Spin Doctor / Smear Merchant" combo on some key states. This raises his ratings on all issues by 15%, while lowering yours by 15%. Looking at the War on Terror, which arrounted for 38% of votes made, the al
I guess we know his position on "Legealized Cloning" Yes, this is a bug. We'll get it fixed asap.
UbiSoft's Quality Assurance team is currently looking over the Demo. Once it get's the green light, we'll be sure to post the link.
