Unless terror stars are rated as a thread by the AI
Terror stars are not considerd a threat by the AI if they have no cultural modules. I don't know for sure the AI would complain about a terror star with culture, but it sure does complain about regular starbases with the same modules.
alternative to Maxtipherous's straight short lines
Short straight lines can be setup within the first 3-4 years of the game. Setting up a terror star trade

My first darksider was a female rogue/consular. She couldn't hold anything heavier than a short lightsaber. :) But she was overflowing with force points and would dominate the battle field with her group stun and force kill. And if she told somebody to shut up, they would do so forever. :D She killed the catwoman on their first meeting, she was jealous of her tail. :) My second darksider was a male fighter/guardian. He had hardly enough force points to heal himself after the battles,
I need to fire up a new gig maso soon
No, no , no Ric, no need to rush into things. Relax. Take a deep breath. Take your wife out for dinner, rent a movie, play with your kids, watch them grow, go to college, get married and have children of their own so you can play with them. :) Listen to your instinct Ric, you know it's the right thing to do. ;) ~SDC~
I always wondered why the AI build staff when they don't have the tech yet
To avoid this situation, don't put anything in the first governor's queue, Mr. Ford I think. AIs will build only what they earned if you leave that queue empty. ~SDC~

Wow I just tried one of those devices and they are truly amazing! Imagine that, you can buy a book, read it (that's what the scanning process is called) then lend it to a friend and nobody will try to sue you! Be warned though, if you grew up with a television set as your best buddy, some books may overwork your brain and lead to painful ideas poping up. If it is your case, you may want to avoid books with too many words and stick to those with pictures, preferaby hand drawn pictures.<b

Yeah Kotor was ok in the story department, for a Star War theme. I would never have gotten the game because I have a healthy disrespect for all things Star Wars, but my son insisted and the game turned out to be worth playing. I had a lot of fun playing an evil character, taking along Canderous and the red robot, Also fun to be evil while teaming up with both female Jedi. Alverin, I played such a game with 5 evils while I was pure good. I had 2 trade routes to every civ, max diplo picks

Oh yeah, the five on one is a tough one. I wasn't pushing for skills as much as acting like a kid. Why walk someplace when you can run? Or better yet, get there by jumping from roof to roof. Even better if nobody sees you, you get the picture. :) Oh look! A giant crab, let's shot some arrows on it! The one skill I did train on purpose was swimming. For once this was a game where water wouldn't kill you instantly or be impassable terrain, so I figured having good swimming ski
"Too easy" also doesn't account for reloads
I played a character who was quickly killed on his first trip out of town. He didn't live long but it was enough to show me the skill system worked pretty much the same way as in Daggerfall. I made another character, a thiefly type, and played the whole game without reloads. I don't remember the exact level, but I must have been level 10 before even moving out of the first town. This is where the game was too easy, levels were t
gigantic painful...Any suggestions on how to get ot the end of this size map quickly
If you don't mind the devalued points on a cultural conquest, it is probably the fastest way to go if you have managed to build most influence wonders and trade goods. A few well placed cultural starbases will give you 90% ownership quite quickly. You don't even have to flip most planets. You may have to buy some alien starbases on influence ressources if you don't own the majority. <

I never get the succesful completion screen unless I alt-tab to windows. Just to test it one day, I left the computer after pressing the submit button. 30 minutes later, it was still showing the submission screen without any messages. On that occasion, it crashed the computer when I used alt-tab. I think the game gets into some sort of network timeout if I don't alt-tab. When I do alt-tab, it takes maybe a minute before it switches to windows. By the time I fire up SC and load the metav
dont you get a list of all their planets
You do get a list of all the AI planets. But on a gigantic map, even with a rare setting, an AI might end up with 10-15 systems easily. Depending on terrain, some systems are not colonized until very late in the game. And then there are those pesky pq14 the AI sometimes grabs in the middle of the game. ~SDC~

This has been bothering me for a while, maybe this is the right place to mention it. The score selection for gigantic maps doesn't work. I guess by now I should be on the first page, somewhere behind Ginata, yet neither of us show up. It seems to be the only size selection which doesn't work properly. Also, there is a typo on the Neutral morality score page, it says "netural". ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
you have the problem of "false positives"
I don't see that as a problem, if you want to avoid war at all cost, don't send any ships near AI territory, plain and simple. If you want to mine a ressource in AI territory, make it your territory first. There are multiple ways of doing that, like using cultural starbases or capturing a nearby planet. It would be nice if you could capture a starbase instead of destroying it and the AI should really never sell their starbases or
terror star construction was slowed down
I am not talking about terror stars, I am talking about constructors. A constructor in alien owned sector show be considered the same as a warship, or better yet as a sneak attack in the making. That would solve both the alpha strike terror star problem and the cultural bombing problem. Then again, that too would only delay the inevitable. The AI has to be able and capable to win by culture or by tech to make the game comp

I have to make a correction, the group is not from Québec, but rather from Bretagne, in the NW of France. I could have sworn they were from Québec, the way they use the french language! Anyway, being from Bretagne, that makes them Celtic. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]

I think I found you a theme song. It is from Soldat Louis, a group from Québec adn it is sort of a sailor's song.

You may have a little problem playing neutral as any games with a morality of 51 or more is counted as a chaotic good game. I also know 35 counts as chaotic evil but I do not know the lower limit to have a neutral game. ~SDC~
