It has been such a delightful conversation with you, Sirian. In case you are not aware, I'm extremely turned off by your arrogance.
I didn't much warm to being called jaded, Ray, just because I am not interested in the card collecting game you've been excited about. I have a VERY low opinion of that type of game, but the game and those who play it are different things. I made no personal attacks against you, but now you've come after me. Why? What did I say to deserve tha
I don't remember the exact level, but I must have been level 10 before even moving out of the first town.
Egads, mon. What did you do? Stand around and endlessly repeat simple tasks like jumping, running, and sneaking? I got a couple of promotions in three different guilds and had been to several cities by the time I was level 4. I was definitely still level 1 when I left the first town, although I did stick around long enough to finish the readily available quests/jobs
Bless you, Cari! :) And all your kin and kith. :) I knew I made a good decision when I pre-ordered the expansion. Thank you for fixing this annoying bug and ending our long suffering. :HOT: - Sirian
The action is winding down in the first succession game, yet there are still reasons to tune in. Have you met SiBCaT yet? If not, this is one kitty who could change the way you play the game. Don't miss out! :D - Sirian
I almost always play Masochistic, 5 Incredible AI's, default alignments, all victory conditions enabled. I vary map size, habitability, star cluster density, political party, and bonus abilities. Yet through all this variation, my games usually end between 2195 and 2205. The AI's always pursue the military techs, chasing the capital ships. If they don't keep up with the other AI's, they will get wiped out. I can usually stay out of most wars, though, and branch off into the rest of the tech tree
Terror stars are the other quick out on giant maps: for conquest, yes, but even for alliance (kill off those with whom you have poor relations, then ally with the rest).
Morrowind was indeed marvelous in the graphic department but it was not very challenging to play
Neither was Diablo 1, if you went for all the strongest options. There's challenge available in Morrowind if you want it. How much do you want it? You have to go after it, but it's there if you
"Not really," replied God "just wait and see the neighbors I am going to give them."
You mean the people who brought you the airplane, telephone, computer, and internet? Those evil bastards! Let's all gang up and throw monkey feces at them. :) - Sirian
I can take some heat. If I couldn't, I'd have gotten out of the kitchen a lonnnnnng time ago. :D As for no RB activity, I got some new games this week. Well, not NEW new games, but new for me. I got Space Colony, which is a sim-city style game crossed with the Sims, in a sci-fi setting, with a lot of humor and light/wacky stuff. I have gotten my money's worth, glad I took a chance on it. I also got Morrowind GOTY edition. I have been NEEDING an fps fix, and this is it! TES:Aren
Great website Sirian.
Danke! :D
I think this is a cheesy way to win, but it's worth quite a bit of points, and it's been known for a long time. I think it's a huge flaw in the AI and should be fixed.
I agree. :) You'd be right at home in RB land, friend. Not a sales pitch, just an observation. Personally, I have been observing a few voluntary rules to keep the game interesting. One of these is not stacking starbases. I don't stack trade bases, cultural bases or production bases. One per sector.
:CONGRAT: Good show, Aldarians. :CONGRAT: Won't be long now, you'll pass the demoralized Evil Empire and take your rightful place in the great scheme. Looking forward to our our future relations, and may you invite us from time to time to DHABB with you (especially on Blizzard Day!) - Sirian
Default alignments make for the richest gameplay. I tried "random", played that twice, both times most of the AI's leaned one way, and when I did, the game was way too much cakewalk for my taste, so I went back to defaults. And yes, whether or not the advantage lies with good, evil, or even remaining neutral, depends on the map, the terrain, and sometimes the way the timing breaks down on wars, random events, etc. For an example of a game where I started evil, found myself in w
Ooh, BamBam is almost to 100k now. :)
Are u so jaded from your past multiplayer experiences that you would not even give the free trial a go, Sirian?
I don't do collectible card games, Ray. They contain a gimmick aimed to appeal to the vain and the insecure. The primary interest is to sell more and more decks. "Buy your way to an advantage" is not my idea of good gameplay, nor generally of a place to find gamers who would share my interests. The event you describe, with fixed conditions and a nominal
Yup. Crippling for fun, Maso for points.
Some of us play Maso for fun. :) Crippling is better if you want to go on the attack quickly, but have you seen this report? http://sirian.warpcore.org/galciv/losing.html That game was a blast, and would have been far too easy on Crippling (for me at least). I had a great time with this game, too: http://sirian.warpcore.org/galciv/no-picks.html Why psych yourselves up to say Maso is no f
Second try... Sorry to hear that the first try had to be aborted. May the Force be with you. :) - Sirian
There was the time, on a gigantic map, I wanted to buy off the last few pennies on a minor project, had to swap from all social to all research spending to do it, and forgot to change the spending back to social. I paid about 12000 into max research... to research Stellar Cartography. Oops. :SURPRISED: - Sirian
Ruby red lips - give me a break. :) Hey Paguma, don't burn out now, mon. The expansion will be out next month, and RB may craft a tournament, which could be to your liking. The patches are finally maturing... The game's just getting good now. You can't leave us! We need you! - Sirian
Hey now. No pressing me into service wearing drag. I might be able to fit into a dress, mind you, but there is no way I'm shaving my mustache, not even to garner laughs. :D http://sirian.warpcore.org/professional/bob.jpg That's me, by the way, at a LAN party near Pittsburgh in 1999. :) I was parked in front of the same keyboard there that I'm sitting at now, and there were nearly a dozen people packed into a garage with twelve computers networked, everybody playing Descent. :D
Not many PC games with a female player perpetually holding the top rank worldwide, so a grand achievement on at least three levels. :) Good job. :CONGRAT: - Sirian
Bah. How did RB get lumped in with the oppressors? :notsure: Flash those uzis one more time and you may have to be sent to bed without any supper, young man. :D - Sirian
My most time intensive technology: Defense Theory
Now dat's funny! LOL My lowest "most time intensive" has been Interstellar Refining.
I'm glad we can now spectate the Jedi SG. Well, we could if we could find it. Um, can someone post directions? (A link?) Not all of us out here are familiar with the Jedi Council hallways and corridors. Danke. :) - Sirian
These Canadian types know how to put up a fight. Of course, RB has known that all along, since several of our members hail from up north. Still, for an empire that sat around rotting and giving off foul odors, they sure know how to mobilize then they set their minds to it! :D Both of my latest submissions have retaken our sixth place lead, after the CSF took it back. You gotta love a sporting event with lots of lead changes. :D - Sirian
wanted to have one of a kryponite green mattress spring, but you already bloody took that!
Kryptonite green? Hey there, Superman, quit divulging our secret weaponry! :D Did you know, it also creates a small dead zone in the Force? Won't the Jedi masters be surprised when their goofy mind tricks fail them and they have to deal with us on even terms? :D Oops. I shouldn't have said anything about that. Bad Sirian. Bad. - Sirian
