I tried putting the AP serial number in the field for the GalCiv serial number and in the field for the TotalGaming.net serial number. Both times it said the serial number was invalid. It wasn't, though, because I copied it directly from the email. Any other ideas?

Is there something special I have to do after upgrading to AP to make my submissions show up in my profile with the scores submitted with just the GalCiv serial number? Or, is there another reason a score I submitted last night might not show up?
send something through a stargate than to put it on a ship with Hyperdrive.
p video card can handle the new 3D engine. As a general rule, I don't upgrade my hardware until it's absolutely necessary. GC1 is the game that forced me to get more memory and new motherboard/CPU to get up to the recomended specs.
They also pay attention to ships in sectors adjacent to sectors where they have planets. You might be able to sneak a ship through if you have it on auto-pilot to its final destination, though.
I wish i had known this last week. I would have gotten a TGN subscription instead of buying AP for $20.
You get the most points by wiping out all other players, then by alliance victory, then cultural victory, and the least points by technology victory. You can never get more than 60,000 points for any game. I'm not sure, but I think an alliance win is worth .9 times as many points as a millitary win, a cultural win is worth .8, and a tech win is worth .7.
I only started doing the Stellar Cartography thing after a couple of Maso games. Even with a speed bonus I had trouble getting a fair share of planets. And at Maso level the last thing you need is another disadvantage. I think I'll make an attempt to go back to playing it "straight" after I finish playing through the AP campaign. (I just got around to buying AP this week.)
Whu? Why do you reveal the map and not keep track of where the yellow stars are? [Message Edited]
In GalCiv's data folder (C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Galactic Civilizations\Data is the default if you installed it from the retail CD) there's a file called GCTech.TECH. Open that up with Notepad and search for the line that says "TECH 140 StellarCartography". A few lines under that you'll see one that says "Research_Cost". Change it to 0 and everybody starts with Stellar Cartography. Cheesy? Yes, but no more than saving and reloading after you reveal the map. And Car
BTW, Stellar cartography allows you to see yeloow stars on the map. The research path is : com theory > universal translator > nano electronic > stellar cartography.
Some people start off by saving, enabling cheat keys to reveal the map, then reloading the save from before cheats were enabled. They don't consider it cheating since the AI already knows where the good planets are at the start. Personally, I think that's too much effort, so I just reduced the cost
that actually support life within a matter of years is straining my credibility. It seems like it would be much easier to just convert an existing PQ1 into a PQ35.
onditions are a good thing.
Lately I've noticed that GalCiv has a tendency to crash after a few hours of play. I can reload the auto-save and continue normally, though. It's not tied to any obvious event that I can see, and it doesn't matter if it's loaded from a savegame or "fresh." I'm not extreemly bothered by it. It does let me know when I've been playing for long enough sometimes. ;) I just thought someone at Stardock might like to know. Is there anything I can do to help track down the bug?
Get rid of the dash in front of the w.
The window will be 1024 by 768. Is your resolution more than that? If not, it will be in a window, but the window will take up the full screen. (If it's less than that it won't even start, nor will it start if your colors aren't 16 bit.)

Weird. What version of Firefox do you use? Any relevant options that I might have turned on/off that would break it? I've got Java and Javascript enabled. Autoscrolling & Smooth Scrolling don't affect it. It works on every other site that jumps to some part of the page other than the top. I looked at the HTML and figured out what the difference is between this forum and the GC2 forum. This forum identifys the place to jump to with something like , an
Another thing that doesn't work here: when you open a thread that you've read before it doesn't scroll down to the first unread post. It works in the GC2 forum. Whatever you did there, do that here. ;) The point of the Web is that it looks more or less the same from wherever you're looking at it. "It was designed for IE," means the same thing as "I was too lazy to test it properly."

I don't know about EB, but you can use this order form to order any of Stardock's games or other products by mail: http://www.stardock.com/order.txt
