I suffered from this bug, and I was told that if you save and reload the game before building the starbase, then the bug is fixed. I didn't actually test it since I had already built a non-mining starbase on the resource, but you may want to test it yourself.

In my recent game, I replaced the constructors with a faster ship that has constructor modules, and I obsoleted the original constructor. I then discovered that I cannot actually build new mining starbases anymore - the new ships (Builders) will not automatically build a starbase when they hit the resource, and if I choose "construct", then I'll only get the regular menu of influence/military/economy starbases. I think I'm totally blocked out of building mining starbases, unless I'm m
Oh, and while I know how to restore campaign saves from the "reset" button, it would be really nice to be able to restore saves from in-game. Plus, "reset" is a rather silly name for a button that doesn't reset anything but lets you load games, no?
I've been playing the campaign - I really like a lot about it, it's well wrought out and an interesting story, but there are some problems. Bugs: I consistently get a crash to desktop on the fourth turn of mission 6 of the campaign. This prevents me from playing further into the campaign. Also, on mission 6 my starting colony is on a class 10 planet. -- Not quite a bug, but the campaign is rather unbalanced. Mission 1 is quite hard, mission 2 a lot ea
That doesn't work, for two reasons. A - The Krox ship is far faster than your ships; it would probably have time to get both fleets before either reaches the planet. More importantly, B - You can't build a fleet - the Krox destroy the ships as you build them. And before long, they'll start capturing your planets. As far as I can see, the only way this scenario is at all possible is if the Krox decide to pick on the Altarians for long enough that they allow you
I'm totally stumped on mission 3 - even if I play in cakewalk, then the Krox just pick off my colonies one by one before I can mount anything resembling an effective defence, let alone an offence. Anyone have any tips?
I was playing the campaign, and I reached mission three. I had enough for the day so, without finishing the first turn, I quit. Now, when I try to resume the campaign it continues from a point about 10 tunrs before the end of mission 2.
I can see the small checkbox, but nowhere could I find an explanation of what exactly it does...
Thank you
I've messed around with random alignments for the last few games, and now I want to restore the original alignments - but unfortunately, I don't remember what they are. Is there a way to reset the enemy races? Barring that, could someone list the original settings here please?
I don't know if this has been mentioned before - but if you select a starbase, and right-click another location, you'll get an auto-pilot path there, even though of course the starbase never moves.
