lokiju - Please email that to [email protected] and I'm sure we'll get you taken care of somehow. Thanks man, I sent one yesterday. Still waiting to hear back, but I suppose you guys are terribly busy this week. Hehe.

Gang - As Brad stated at the beginning, if you pre-ordered the game or have just bought it (regardless of from where), you will be getting the Collector's Edition download content. All you'll need to do is enter your serial number in the page we've setup. You don't seem to understand. This is *not* about the stupid bonus downloads. I ordered
Well I for one got what was supposed to be a Collector's Edition from Best Buy today, one of the only stores in the world to get the game before Friday (or March for that matter) it seems. But all I got was the regular edition. Brad had stated on another forum that ALL pre-orders in North America would be CEs, but that is obviously not true. I went through the trouble of waiting for retail for the extras that were supposed to be exclusive, like the tech tree poster. Now I find out that not o
Desert Fox..."this person" is me, Mike, how you doing? I didn't demand anything. Relax, ok? Does anyone read the story before they post? This whole situation was rectified on page 1, and people are still ranting about my "demands" and calls for the developers' heads. Sheesh. I was upset, we discussed, it's cleared up. Trading games is something that has been done at many gaming sites, and is not illegal. I don't make copies of games before I trade, and am strictly against piracy. If I b
Frogboy, I guess I was a bit touchy given the topic. :p
On a brighter note, I beat my first game yesterday! Man, that tech tree is extensive as all hell! :notsure:
Toothy, thanks for helping. You did miss the part where it has been taken care of. I got his info, and changed the account to me. He can theroetically still play the game, but without the updates as it is under my password now. Like I said, everyone at GoneGold are against piracy, and defend gaming and developers to no end. The person I traded from deleted the game, as we all agree to before our trades. And as a side note...come on, how can you tell someone they can't sell or tra
LOL, just a misunderstanding then. :p I am very against the justice system as it stands. People taking from others (over hot coffee and getting fat) is no way to run a society. Everyone has been very helpful here. Next time I promise to buy the game and not get it in a trade. LOL
I never stated anything about sueing...where did that come from? :notsure: Please. I'm a 31 year old school teacher, not some 14 year old teeny bopper. I have been nice and never said a mean thing in this thread. There have been a few others who chimed in about EULA's, but I simply came asking about my situation. It has been rectified. Thank you for your time.
Frogboy, in retrospect, you are correct. But This game is only 4 weeks old, no matter if it had 1 or 2 owners. Don't you think it still deserves the full update treatment? Like i said, the game is paid for, and the actual owner should not be in the equation. The game itself was bought, Stardock has the money, so for the full year it (it being the game with serial number) should be treated like everyone else. ;p
Starvald...what is SDC? Star Dock...Central?
I have trouble getting exact numbers on the top slider. It's like I can't wipe out and start fresh. Maybe they can fix that?
Thanks for the help guys/gals. I am using the 1.03a.
Actually, I didn't know about the changing colors! :sniff!: Now I do, thanks to you! But, if they refuse or accept, either way, is it considered tribute?
I am not demanding tribute, I am offering technology for their money. Everyone (even minors) get mad at me for asking. Why is this? They think we're practically Gods, but I couldn't tell. >:(
Well, I do appreciate what the company has done for the community, and this is the best anti-piracy/pro non-pirate system I have seen so far...except for the whole reseller thing. Although it *was* easy enough to get the person's info and change the account to my own (Ebay sellers might not be so nice though). Because of this, he can not update from Stardock with a copied version since I now have the account and new password (Although I doubt he copied the game just from previous experience w
Fleabit (same as at GoneGold?), I did already switch the account info. Thanks. I just had to get his email, full name, and password.
This is a great game, and I will be buying the expansion. But, it would be nice for a company to help out in these situations, since it could make or break future purchases. I don't like the fact that companies go to such extreme measures to stop hackers. It only hurts honest customers, and the traders like me as well. Pirates are always one step ahead, which is why they are hired to be anti-pirates, lol. I buy 50% of my games, which is still $100's a month. An honest trade here or there s
:notsure: Like I said, take the actual user out of the equation, and for once stop thinking that EVERYONE copies and pirates games (since most people at GoneGold.com are VERY against it). The game was purchased (Stardock got their money from the game), and therefore the game deserves the quick updates at Stardock. And please, please, shut up with all the "Read the license or EULA" crap. I've seen less paperwork over a new house or car. >:( EULA's have been proven, from various articles, to
CariElf, I am not sure it would ever be proven illegal to sell a product on ebay, regardless of what it is. In fact, most things I buy are not broken, unlike software (although GalCiv seems pretty solid at purchase). If a person copies a game, and then sells the original, then that is piracy. But telling a person that they can't sell a legal item they bought is stretching the EULA a bit. I do understand that you don't want to help me because I didn't buy the game from you. My point, again,
Daetrinn, you are missing my point. Whether or not *I* bought the game doesn't matter. Someone did, and that person isn't using the privilege of updates, instead choosing to trade the game to me, and thus all honors of updates. The game was purchased, and therefore deserves the Stardock updates, regardless of who it is, it should be useable. The person who bought the game, in trading it to me, gave me the title to the land so to speak.
I mean updating from Stardock, as the game itself is obviously playable. In any case, I simply got the guys email, and full name (he is an aquaintance, as are most of the people at GoneGold, but great people as Asharak here can tell you), and am able to DL the updates with the serial number.
OK, points taken, BUT, I am now in possession of the game. Whether or not I bought it from Stardock, the game was paid for, and should be supported...and since the other guy is not using the game obviously, someone should be getting the benefits of the game. As it stands now, they got paid for this game I am holding, but are not supporting it, since no one can use it besides the guy who doesn't have it.
Thanks for all the help!
Also, do you guys use the propaganda slider anytime?
