It has been said that a true Monarchy does not exist. There's simply too much to do for the King/Queen all by themself, so this is a good idea! As long as having a certain military advisor doesn't have the people prevent you from going to war :P

For maps which don't wrap... it seems better having more of a rounded corner as compared with a definite corner.
They mean that if you take a lot of octagons and place them in a nice pattern you will have gaps in your map :P And this is a fan

So the mouse goes everywhere but the map will only scroll (left or right monitor) when you hold Ctrl for example. By the way, for anyone wanting to try out a game-with-3D-glasses without having to spend $1200, pick up <a title="Serious Sam: The Second Encounter" href="http://www.gamespot.com/

One of the better reviews: Puzzle Quest: Galactrix: How to screw up a perfect formula
The guy says himself it's not a review. And anyway why is there such an uproar of a clearly mediocre game? Not bad, mediocre. One of the most heard arguments is that the game is too random. Well hello,

Heroes of Might and Magic 5 :) I played one of the infamous early betas which were horrible. But the final build was actually quite good and definitely a surprise. I had it for a while from... "questionable sources" [e digicons]*_*[/e] but yesterday I ponied up and bought it for 10 bucks on Steam hehe.

Rayman Raving Rabbids: I would really have liked another platformer, but got the bunnies instead :( Rayman Raving Rabbids 2: It doesn't even have Rayman in it! Sins of a Solar Empire: Would have liked a worthy successor to Homeworld but in the end it was another 2D game. It's space people, space ships are not bound to the ecliptic plane! *sounds off* toooooot I was only 11 when MoM was released, too young to fully appreciate the intricacies of such a game, so I'll see if I can find a copy still lying around somewhere to try it with a more mature mindset :) I love all the previews and heaps of features Stardock is planning to put into EWoM and am looking forward to help test this new "tablecloth" game [e digicons][/e]
One of the reasons I'm

Not that I don't really hope it will be early spring, a more down to earth look at the situation would be that spring lasts until June 21st, so the beta could start both in springtime *and* in June ;)

I have downloaded GalCiv from the bulk-file-link. I used Download Accelerator, so I had a good 200kB/s. This was however, not on my own computer, as I have only a slow modem. I installed SDC anyway on my own computer to run the updates. Entered my serial, and saw GalCiv. But every time I run SDC, it downloads an update of itself, after which I must enter my serial again. Also it doesn't work in combination with Seti@Home, which I run almost constantly. I agree: make it plain downloads. Fortunate

Fredrik, I get no error message at all. It just keeps on displaying that clock-thing. One time I finally was logged in, but SDC downloaded an update of itself, and exited. Now I could wait again a long time. That's what got me frustrated and post this thread.

Can someone please put just a link on this site to the patch? My Stardock Central isn't working at all >:( , it just keeps on logging on, and it takes more time than downloading this patch would. Why should I use such a user-unfriendly program, when it should be possible to just download it? So, no entering Serial numbers or something, just a link so I can download, and not only on the computer where I have installed GalCiv. >:(

I was playing an easy game yesterday, and I was the major civ. Then came a new civ, called 'Fundamentalists'. This civ starts beating up the smaller ones. Those come to me, asking for help. I tend to be a good civ, so I thought: I can help them. But the only option I could reply was: "Sorry, I can't help you, prepare yourselves for death", or something along those lines. How can I respond with "Sure, I can help you"?

Some suggestions: 1) Add a difficulty-setting for the minor civs. I started my first game with all the major civs on 'Fool', because I just wanted to explore the game without having to think about strategies and the like. One of the minor civs however, was the best civ throughout the game, way better than the major civs. That was a bit weird. 2) You might want to add a very quick message saying the turn has advanced when I press the turn-button. Something like a hourglass turni

I don't know if someone already posted these, but better once too many than not at all. 1) I was on the road to a cultural victory. I had 14 out of 16 sectors conquered, but the game gave no 'winning message'. Then, the victory-progress in the options window said that I was 12 months from cultural victory. The next turn, I got a screen saying I have to hold my sectors for two more years to win. 2) Somewhat later, before I won, I had all sectors dominated by my culture, and I sa

I have at home a slow 56k modem, but I have access to a fast connection at my university. Now I have downloaded the one file for the install, but I also want to download the bonuspack. But I can only install it directly. There is no option to only download it. Who can help me?
