Thanks rezaf ! How do you give the module a supply modifier ? Use of a negative Range tag ?

Sure, but first I missed it, second the forum/my navigator always put my posts in the "root" forum whatever I choose as subforum, and now I can't move it to the sticky thread ...
I have an idea for a ridiculously easy mod that would greatly change the gameplay : just increase largely the size and cost of both Colony and Transport modules ! First it's rather weird to have those immense module carrying 500M people being so small as to take the same space than a couple components mounted on fighters.. Second the whole "grab the planets" startgame is not that fun for me, and I'd prefer a slower expansion where actually having
I had a couple bugs plus some unexplainable things in 1.1 : First game freezes when I want to create a Gigantic galaxy. I didn't try before so maybe it's not a new problem, but yet it's a problem ! I don't think it's a CPU/time to generate issue, I let it for 15 minutes before rebooting, and a Huge galaxy is done in less than 30 seconds. Second I played the 2nd and 3rd Campaign scens, and now I see Drengs building endlessly ... 0-attack "De
I agree there's a problem with economic management - indeed it's the main gripe that my friends also have with the game. I don't really understand why it's been done so complicated and difficult to manage. IMHO there are 2 issues : - first the dual queues for military and social, that both use the same IP pool; Why not have either different pools (that is different factories for each), or (simpler) not having only 1 queue with social as well
Uh, what a hot debate ! But in fact I don't care a dime if the AI knows or not where are the planets/goodies ! I've no real feeling of competition vs the AI, it's not a player ! It's just a game where I think I should be smart enough to beat it, else I lower the AI level <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab
The problem is not how war has to be waged, but is about the difficulty equipping empty planets when you have an hgh tech level. First it's illogical not to allow lower tech buildings from being built. AFAIK settlers in the US wilderness didn't start by building marble palaces . Second the game lacks a means to redirect production from to a planet. T
Hi, Yesterday I've found a thread with links to nice jpgs of the GC2 Tech Tree, but now I can't find them again ... Is there any Search feature on this board ? Don't find it neither !
Uh, just an idea : for those using SD/TG preorder/downlaod, would it be possible to just have the CE stuff listed in SD Central list of games/addons ? It'll go a long way toward solving the "do I have the CE stuff installed" frequent issue...
Oh yes, I forgot I had Adblock enabled ! Thanks for the help
I've the same problem, I can't even log on to the site/forum using Firefox (last version AFAIK..), the "logon" button appears, but just isn't active ...
Thanks CariElf for the reply ! I wasn't serious about Iraq link ;)
What do you mean? All that is needed is to translate the various text files used by AP.More AP need at least version 1.20, and the official french GC is 1.12.
Sorry I wasn't clear : the question should be "can it be made possible for owners of French version of GC to install AP ?". Looks like it isn't from what you say because of the version problems ... But shouldn't the French version be updated ? Is there no customer support for the French version ;p ? Has it
Hi all, BTW, is there a way to make French GC compatible with AP ? As AP won't ever be localized it'll be cool to be able to use it whatever the GC version ... :d
. We would want to get at least 5k pre-orders.
I'm not sure this a workable approach... You'll only get preorders from people knowing/trusting Stardock, and you plan to make a larger-audience game, published by a "big" company (Atari), that will put it on shelves all over the world. If things go well you'll sell 100k+ of the game. Even if they don't you can count on maybe 20-50 k. These figures mean you'll have to get cash for the dev, but you can't count on pre
Re "resume" function : a couple of times I had to shut down my comp while d/ling from SDC, and to my surprise it "resumed" when I launched SDC d/ll again - or so it seemed: the d/l manager reported at start the previously d/led part, for example it restarted indicating 100Mb already gotten and continued from here. The estimated time remaining was totally false though , as it calculated it as if the 100Mb were gotten in no time... However I have ano
I suppose that the Ultimate Ed is up to date and incorporates all the latest patches but I'm not sure and can't readily find the release numbers . Can someone confirm that no patching is required ? That applies to other non Stardock games as well ...
Hi there ! Just bought TG subscription yesterday and proceeded immediately to d/l Disciples 2 . I really support the TG concept and pray it can spread among the PC Games and general media industry. If those big media corps were thinking ahead, trying to satisfy demand and creating new services like TG rather than yelling stupidly against "piracy" <img
Sheesh, so much words for a totally unimportant issue ... Sure that some additional 216*256 pixels totally changes everything in the game :notsure: , a 1024*768 game is utter crap... LOL LOL
Well, the problem IMHO is all that figures are totally unrealistic.. Even assuming a non-inflation world, fixed rate leases work with an monthly payment at a rate that is usually higher as the maturity increases, in some rare case it's the opposite, very rarely do rates curves have "gaps" with a medium term rate less than shorter and longer ones, and lastly and above all rates are better when amounts are greater ! And I write that from a big bank's Treasury dealing room LOL !
Agreed, I don't see the point of building anything else when you have them .. I find them so much cheesy I don't build them anymore in fact, just to keep things interesting ! (I play with Intelligent AI, doesn't use them either) As the game is now I'm not sure of how to balance them : making them costlier will render them useless, maybe reducing their Attack to 40-some... Else a "counter-weapon", think of some Space AEGIS would be the right solution, but impossible to create ..
I now have a 49 PQ Planet ! Cool... It was in the -former- Arcean Home system, a Precursor event put it to 35 and it was terraformed up to 49. The Arcean Home was a cool PQ 25-some planet, now at 35. What's funny is that in this game the Arceans were very weak, they were crushed by Torians, then surrendered their worlds to the Yor, who were feeble too, crushed by Torians but I stepped up from the other side of the galaxy (I had to put 2 intermediate SB just to reach the system..
For me choice to buy direct was easy : * I want to give my money to Brad and not Mr Marketing Suit from InfoGreed * Either it was some d/l hours vs one WEEK or two to get the game over the Pond ! So no question ! Still i would have preffered that the price be the same that the retail price... economic logic is sometimes weird !
Duglis I did swap models for Corvettes and Frigates. You can do as Hawaian said, or edit shippak3.ship with Notepad and swap the "model" entries ship06/ship08. As for coloring models it should take 15 seconds with the base tga available, with any graphics program, but if you have to build one from screenshots ;p it's a pain...
Unrealistic to know in advance star color ? Certainly not, we ALREADY know the color of all stars in a 100+ parsecs area I think, spectral light analysis is a 20th century technology ! BTW if we didn't know it we won't know either what colors exist !!! LOL
