Have You tried GIF Movie Gear ? http://www.moviegear.com/ You can export to a filmstrip bmp with it.
Tried to reach him for permission to use some of his great icons for DX many times, even when his website was still up... No success. So a nice dark/industrial-style DX-theme keeps hidden forever on my HD.

So no problem at all. That's good. I didn't want to attack anyone, just make people sensible about this matter. And english is not my native language, I always fear to sound offending by using the wrong words.
And I see no "danger" with themes compiled by the author himself.
Hmm, that's why I wanted to have some other opinions on this. But I still see a high risk espacially with DX. As I see it, 80 % of problems with it are caused by incompatible/old plugins.
lately I see people throw together old skin-suites to WinStyles - themes. First of all I thought : "Hey that's nice, having all the skins together under one roof." (Winstyles). But then I thought that creators of such themes really should take care of software version compatibilities. Some skins are quite old (and some are in the process of being updated). For example there could be some issues with old Desktop X plugins and newbies will blame the software for that, not an old plugin or skin/the
