OK, the banner's hidden, but the wasted space under the menubar is still there. Sorry to sound like a grouse, but it's only a minor improvement Maybe I wasn't clear in the original, but that's what I meant too! Not just the picture, but the whole pane. Maybe another option for "I know what all these products are, Please hide the descri

Just got the latest SDC update... and I'm a bit disappointed about the screen usage. I'm happy with the right hand list of sub-sections, but could do without the gratuitous Stardock banner along the top. It's hard enough to read the message board threads at 1024 x 768 without losing more lines for a link I already know <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&News

this morning my wife noticed that many of her dektop shortcuts functioned properly. I chalked it up to a user issue Noticing that things function properly is now an issue?? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid

The best thing I could think of at that moment was a nice cup of coffee so as I sat there I asked the 'can you please make me a cup of coffee....... nothing.I was confused. Thinking the microphone was probably broken I typed 'can I please get a cup of coffee'?Same thing... Nothing, it just sat there on top of the table being pretty. I know what y

Actually, you can relocate your stuff in Outlook Express! Select Tools > Options from the menu, go to the Maintenance tab, click on the Store Folder button. From memory, it asked wether you want to move existing contents or just change the setting - but I haven't done it for a while! Better take a good backup first <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID=9

#2 - Backgrounds are dealt with in this way... but even if you disable themes on the Experience tab you still get all the WB graphics at nasty colour depths. I find it just bearable at 128K DSL speeds, because it's only work after all I posted a similar question a while back too, but don't remember getting a response. When using the standard MS Luna skins, turning themes off in your remote deskto

Yeah... it makes sense that the section is an inherent part of the 4.3 skinning system... but... Some skins that do not have their own toolbars/animations just have the contents of those sections in SkinStudio greyed out. They have not had to import the "default" ones just because they didn't design their own. That's what I'm hoping to clean up Maybe these skins were made in a earlie

I used to run pretty lean on the number of skins I had installed at any time... but recently I've been changing WB skins a lot more often (cheers GUIO! ) and I want to clean up the number of "Default Shell Toolbar/Animation" entries in the WBConfig dialog. I'm also planning on fixing the description for those who forgot to enter them... As an OD subscriber I have the latest WindowBlinds and SkinSt

I purchased a couple of the premium suites a while back - Carbonix from WinCustomize and PixOS from Pixtudio. Now that WB has developed some more features, I was wondering whether it is reasonable to expect these suite to get updated too. I know there is time and money involved for the authors to do so, so would consider paying a discounted "upgrade" price. By bringing these suites up to date, it may even encourge a few new buyers out of the woodwork! Anybody else have opinio

I'm not sure what you are getting at - can you see the whole window frame sans the buttons or does it look like the window runs off the edge of the screen? If it's the latter, press Alt+Spacebar on your keyboard, and then X for maximise. You can also use Alt+Spacebar then M for move to drag the window around with the arrow keys so that you can get at the borders and resize the frame. [Message Edited]

I read about this somewhere too, either on slashdot or the register. The autorun feature is used to install a driver on your system. This driver detects the "copy protected" disc and only allows access to the protected WMA tracks and not the standard WAVs. (Excuse me if I've got this slightly wrong, but you get the gist ) They did mention that the driver prompts with the standard "do you

http://www.mvr.us/ Some nice 3D ones here... I'm in love with the Matrix code saver. Oh, and kudos to China - the "Really Slick" ones live up to their name too! My PC now uses more processor time when in screen saver mode than when I'm doing any real work.

For Windows XP machines that are members of a DOMAIN, the "Windows Security" and "Lock/Unlock" screens are not skinned. For workgroup/stand alone machines you do get the WindowBlinds 4 skinned dialogs. Just one of those things I guess! Must be to do with how the MSGINA.DLL works in the system rather than user space. Maybe WindowsBlinds 5 will be able to delve deeper into these dialogs? - Andy.

Call me old fashioned, but I like my Window buttons to be in the standard location! If I intend to use a skin for any length of time, I generally edit the buttons so that they behave more like the standard Windows ones. For example, I purchased the Carbonix suite. I then edited the Carbonix graphics and buttons so the minimise was back on the right instead of the left, and I even made sure the corner background "grows and shrinks" depending on how many buttons are on the window. I do

I have set up the NTP synch for the W32TIME service in W2K/WXP a few times using various Microsoft knowledge base articles. If you're happy fiddling in the registry start from this link http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;223184 To set the name of the NtpServer, you will need to find one accessible to the public. Microsoft lists some resources here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;262680, but I prefer to check here http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~

IPlural... yeah, I'd already been there. Lots of really nice fonts, couldn't find the one I wanted. pictoratus... YOU DA MAN! Thanks for that. I have managed to download and install the font, now I just need to convince Windows to let me use it for PuTTY. Although the TEXT is mono spaced, the FONT FILE doesn't seem to be flagged as a mono spaced one. Here I go, Googling again!

A link... now why didn't I think of that in the first place! It's the font that says "RELOAD IN IMAX" at the top of this poster http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/rl_cmp/poster_imax.html It's also the font they use in the navigation menu at the top of the high bandwidth site http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/rl_cmp/poster_imax.html. When you mouse over the little navigation scree

Hi everyone, Went and saw reloaded again last night, and thought it would be cool to have all my terminal sessions using the same font as they used in the credits. Does anyone know the name, where to get it, free copies etc? I'd appreciate the info. Thanks! PS - check out the excellent Matrix 3D DirectX 9 screen saver at http://mvr.us/screen_savers/ if you're into that sort of thing. Beats the 2D one from the Matrix web site hands down!

I met my wife-to-be at school when I was 16... I was trying to chat up the girl she sat next to in English class so I guess not all of my considberable charm got wasted! We've been together now 18 years (gee, more than half our lives), married 11, one 8 year old boy and 24 weeks before number 2 is due. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrow

Since my rush to post the fault, I've found another work around. In the PuTTy session configuration, I've turned off scrollbar display. I can still scroll using Shift-PageUp and Shift-PageDown so all is not lost. It would still be nice if someone else had any suggestions.
