Yes 32-bit. Thanks for the response. I've further reduced the map down to 110 planets which seems to have helped. (Mind you, its early in the game). Would enabling the 3GB switch for xp be of any help here?

Did a bit more testing and there is definitely a frame rate drop on the larger map. What puzzles me however, is that even a small drop (from 75-72) is very noticeable in the ship movements, almost like something else (related to the process large map) is responsible. My machine specs are dual core 2.5 Ghz, 512meg graphics card with 4GB of ram BTW. Graphic setting don't seem to effect
Sorry, got another question. How big of a map should I play on to get the nice, smooth graphic's I am after. Iv'e played a few games on 40-50 planet medium sized maps and the ships look awsome and travel around very smoothly, even when there are quite a few on screen. However, becasue I wanted a 'star trek' map, went looking and downloaded one which has a huge 255 planets. Now, I edited it somewhat and cut this down to 150 b
Cool
Just had a look around and cannot find the 'even damage distribution' . Where exactly is that one? Oh and on another note, the elite engineers from the galaxy class, because of the 'allow original unit to stack' X3 tag actually, over time do three times the listed hull repair/shield restore rates. This may be intended, so just advising if not.
Just a quick question, what files determine the sweep pattern of an attacking ship? The reason I ask is that playing as the Dominion Iv'e noticed that their starting capital ship seems to get 'stuck' when performing its turn on a target, limiting its ability to attack. It gets to the end of its distance away, then just stops, with little twitches as it try's (unsuccessfully) to turn.
Sooo.. where can I download this mod? How do I install it also for Trinity using Imulse as well? Please help
Missed the top of the page sticky?? Use the diplomacy one, install instructions included. 121+1.21a+1.3 IIRC
I probably need to reiterate. Its not hull rate repair rates per say, its their speed compared to shield. In terms of game play overall, I love slow games-the slower the better, as while its a bit 'nothing to do' at the start, mid to late game really suits my game pace/cannon requirements. Ie 1. You get a warning that a fleet is incoming and are able to build defensive structures and a couple of ships by the time they arrive. Hate this,
That may be true, but 'in-game' after a battle, I always have hull repaired before shields. Maybe its just a personal thing for myself, but with the above tweaks (-700%) I am getting was after, which was more of an incentive to avoid hull damage. What I am finding now, is that in my next engagement, sometime, I'm still showing the hull scars from that battle, with shields fully restored. Don't get me wrong, this is just a personal preference,
Continuing on with my game and starting to understand the different ships. Just a balancing/tweaking thought. Does it seem strange that the Federation ships are always waiting for their shields to repair longer then their hulls? Now I know that the shield value is much larger, but in terms of canon is a bit weird. I'm trialing a different setting, with hull rate repair reduced by 700%, offset by a 10% increase i
10 Hours into a long game and having a great, great trek experience. However, is there some kind of ship guide out there, as at the moment its a bit trial by getting flogged/assimilated lol. I could always play some games as the other races but at the moment still playing fed?
Changed the supply limit, and the borg are up and running. Also, the point about difficulty is interesting. Maybe a note should be made on the dowload section that, at the very least, the hard selection should be used. Oh and about the miranda/constituion as was pointed out this is a TNG mod, so I'm now convinced, you guy's have got is correct. Cheers
Did a bit of investigating, and indeed, the borg are unable to build their free diamond capital. However, my modifications were not solely resposible, as, unaltered, the small fleet tag will still leave the starting supply at 75, with which the borg (colony 48, diamond 50) cannot build both, which may be the problem. I will try with normal supply level (100 start) and see if this helps. On a side note, why does it seem that the phaser damage is much higher then t
Thanks for the reply guys. 1. I understand the borg is intended to be slower, but after 2 hours they have not even started to research anything, and, they had load of money sitting there. I noticed that their single ship (coloney) was using almost of of their initial supply, and, becasue of no techs, had quite a few planets not cononised. If this is WAD then sweet. 2. In WoK that statement was after the Enterprise was hammered with its shields d
New to this mod, and can I say what a fantastic job you have done. Finally, a startrek mod which captures the true essence of trek. Got a couple of question that you might help me with. 1. Because I love long games, and I love having the value of ships increased (their value compared with cost/build time etc) I have modded a few game constants. Research time, and build time have been significantly increased-like 90 sec for a constitution class
