I usually play with custom civs just copied in-game from the standard factions, with changed leaders, logos etc. 1. When playing those I get standard Terran citizens though - how do I tell the game to use my own custom portraits for them instead? 2. I also get the human science guy, except in few cases where I get a robot - is this governed by settings like "synthetic" etc.? 3. Can I use the in-game editor to create/use a *u

FWIW I also got the prob where "one per player" improvements can be build multiple times - I also had it with the initially avilaible computer and bank improvement (aside from capturing ones already built on alien worlds, which I think is WAD) and even the galactic mainframe. I play with mods, but nothing that touches improvements. Edit - for contrast anti matter power plant always is unique, that is fine.

Played Crusade 3.05, I think the interface could still be improved somewhat: 1. Ship desginer: I remember older screenshot that show a "designer" button it in-game in the top area of the screen - why is it gone? Do I really have to go through the shipyard every time, or is there a shortcut? Seems like unwanted extra clicks. 2. Ship desginer: are there keyboard shorts for turning the ship around to place things - if not can they still be adde

I did play vanilla 3.05 couple days ago to get back into the game after a long hiatus. I was surprised, too, that everything needs resources now. Since I had no idea what needs what (beforehand) it was pretty much a "let's try this and look surprised" game. The initial stages went fine, but once you get to better/more expensive techs and improvements the game pace went reaaaaally slow. Harvesting anomalies to get tech help and money does help a lo

I just got back into the game, playing Crusade 3.05 now, and got this too, now in several games, mostly mid-game. It is an older prob I experienced with earlier versions, but thought to have been fixed yet. The prob with reproducing is that - at least in my case - I can get around this by save/menu/reload. After reloading the turn button is active again, (saying "turn" instead of greyed out "wait"). But once it starts, it occurs again and again, in short

Thx for the answers guys. Load/Save time is fine for me, just Ai taking their turns could be faster. I gave up on the Yor for now, and changed from playing vanilla to Crusade. I really like the new stuff, so far it's even overwhelming, However some questions: 1. can't minor civs be negotiated with anymore in Crusade? I never can speak to them ("pre-warp" message) - or does that change throughout the game? If not they'd just sit there until

Coming back to this, I'm on a much better machine (6core i5, 16GB RAM) now than a year or so ago, but I don't remember AI turn times being that long back then? Or is this simply wrong memory... Playing vanilla, huge, 12 civs, mid-game there is quite some waiting each turn. I wanted to try Crusade now, is that better performance-wise? That aside it turned out I'm now terrible at this game :D How do I get to Fast Assembly for the Yor, btw. I

Hi guys, I was absent for a long while from the GC universe. I got a couple DLCs, and Crusade, but not the most recent Intrigue addon. Is there a simple way to play either vanilla GC III _or_ Crusade without de-installing someth. in Steam? My in-game menu shows the Crusade title pic, and says I'm on v 3.05.

Thanks for this thread, I actually wondered right after Crusade's release: "what will they do now with it, what comes next?" - so this is perfect :) Re "Admiral Battles" Hm, difficult - if you can control some battles I guess a number of ppl will want to control all of them. Which is not what *I* would like to see. It depends also on the details - how fun/time-consuming etc. would player-controlled battles turn out? However, as long the cu

Is anybody else getting a prob when making custom ship styles via civ editing *appearance* > *fleets*? What I mean is the two lists with ships to replace are only displaying ship names now, but not the icons in front of them (just black space there). Which makes it hard to keep track what you already edited and what not, esp. if you're trying things back and forth

Just skimmed the thread, not sure if already posted: I get a CTD every time I try to delete a previously made ship template. Do other ppl experience this too. If it's a general prob for now we could just delete stuff in Win, not in the game as workaround tho. In the 1st case it was a custom GC3 template from vanilla copied over to the crusade design folder in my games. Later it also happened with templates saved successfully in Crusade before. Back in Win the Stardock msg box

... turning the ship around in the ship designer? Is it just me or is the mousewheel-hold-drag-mouse method even more wonky now? At least that's how it is on my machine... However, if there's no way to turn the ship using keyboard it would be great if that still could be added (arrow keys, for example)

Just curious - does "re-bink" mean your version of the RAD tools does support .bk2? My understanding from earlier threads was that this format is not available publicly, only for devs (but, as a workaround ppl found they could just rename bik into .bk2 to get it to work in GC III) Just wondering if we can really do .bk2 vids now.
