The candidates' home states are randomized in the 1860 campaign. At least for me they are. That would make sense for candidates who are from states that didn't exist in 1860, but for others that's bothersome.

Nixon and Reagan also won West Virginia once each when they won every state but one. The game is right that there are more registered Democrats than Republicans in West Virginia, but for presidential purposes, it has been trending strongly Republican this century.
