Its not just the transparency, it now means you add shadows to windowframes (else you have to use WindowsFX) and eliminate those pesky jagedy edges and replace them with smooth alpha blended corners. Woodbridge, I was addressing the hype over Aero style Menus and Title bars. Alpha blending will c

Why all the fuss about Title bar transparency/translucency in the first place? See-through Start menus and Title bars make text harder to read, and colors are washed out. A lot of hype and anxiety going on in this thread over a new feature that doesn't enhance use ability of skins .... but that's just me.
It seems to me, the best way to handle this is to have seperate categories. I'm not sure how many entries there would be if you limited it to just DX3, icons, etc. Let's talk about a "WB" contests..... If you just had an open WB contest, more than likely the top skins selected would be the entries that skinned everything .. I think it just works that way. Let's face it, WB skins are enhanced when other supporting elements are s

Clever way to get attention ..... grow up.
Well, WOM is a few days older than I am ... my birthday is in June
I live in Michigan ... we had about 2-3 inches of snow on the ground when we left town to be with my parents for Christmas. They live in Greenville, Oh. We arrived the day after the big storm dumped 24 inches of snow there. What a treat that was. We were glad to get back to Michigan! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
I make skins for my personal use and share them with the public. Sure, it's nice when people compliment me on my work, but Glory and Financial gains haven't been in the equation. People have commented that my designs are plain and/or simple. Well, that's the way I like my desktop folks. When I get tired of the latest skin I've made, I will ope
Osborne ... the first "portable" computer.
My congrats go out to Matt. GT3 is truly a masterpiece. IMO, Matt was the clear winner .. no doubt about it. It's unfortunate that the outcome was "manipulated" the way it was. @Sir Black Xero ..... How did you come to the conclusion that Steve is a "New Person"? Ever hear of Xero? I have nothing against Steve's work. He did a nice job with his skin, as did everyone else in the contest. The problem I had with Steve, was his blatant desire to win this contest ...
Great work Tiggz! @Frogman .. I think you meant 9 days to go.
Lighten up guys. If you have a "hot" skin, it won't make a bit of difference if there is a slight delay in getting your skin approved. Look at DogmaX. It's been up since the middle of June, and I believe it's the top downloaded skin for this calendar year. Bad timing ... too late for the GUI competiton and too early for this competition. Haven't and won't receive a nickel for it. So quit complaining about any unfair advantages and just make a kick-ass skin .... the public will be
Gave it a title .. working now.

Excellent tutorial! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
So, what your saying Frogboy, is that even though I'm a contributor to Wincustomize, I have to buy a subscription to increase my ranking?
I agree with Z71. And welcome to Wincustomize matrixman1. It's really pointless to ramble on about which OS is best. I spend my hard earned money on the system that works for me. I'm not about to suggest how you spend your money.
Eagerly awaiting the next rule change in mid-stream.
