There's been a lot of shift in culture here over the past couple years to only talking about things once they are pretty far along.
So... is that like, and finally here's a screenshot of all the titans in game... BAM here's the beta. And here's a video from in game... BAM and there's the full game! Thanks for the info, we really do appreciate it! At least now we know when we start seeing

What's with all the doom and gloom? I would personally rather have them spend time on the game itself than doing anything else, sure a bit more info would be nice, but it's not that big a thing for me. Personally I've been impressed with both Stardock and Ironclad, they treat us, their customers, like people. I appreciate that, and am therefore content with what they have told us, and also content to wait until such a time as they deem ready to release more info or the beta.
I think the biggest problem is simply making it worthile. Give me a convincing reason to send an invasion fleet, instead of a battle fleet or novalith warhead. Perhaps something like retaining some of the planetary upgrades the enemy has given it, instead of having to build it up from scratch. I'm not sure that would be enough but it's a good start. Also perhaps a bonus to allegiance for a short time.
Maybe just me, but I can't see a real use for this feature. The resources my enemy is spending on GC units I would spend on battle ships to destroy said units. Also, why would I bother with GC when something like a novalith fixes any problems a planet has with me much quicker? Or the research for it, why spend the resources on it, when those same resources could go instead to make my fleet powerful enough to make a ground invasion pointless? Not trying to bash, just trying to figure out i
Also - a better cinematic mode. Make it remove all UI entirely when activated. It should make it so that you can take screenshots without having game stuff in the way. As is, to get it with only the basic UI in the way is a bit of a Hassle, as I have to unstick everything from that box on the left, then resticky it afterwards, all to take a nice screenshot.
Turn on cinematic mode then use Shift+Ctrl+Z

That said, it's a lot to affect so little of the game. I can see it being implemented but wou

The 2nd one reminds me a lot of a longsword from halo, maybe that's just me though. EDIT: Wow, talk about necroing, for some reason th
My understanding was having the 3 previous releases and pre-ordering rebellion was all that was required. In fact I think it mentioned on the order form the same thing, something along the lines of "Will not be charged at this time blah blah blah, you will be notified by email when the beta is open and charged at that time." Found it. Your order contains at least one pre-order item. You will only be charged for the items in your cart that are available at this time. Your pre-o
After reading much of this thread (some parts got boring), would it make sense to just have trade port income more tied to current gravity well and connected gravity well's population? I mean what to your mind would do more trade, an asteroid with a population of 20, or a terran planet with a population of 340? I don't know if this would be a bad change or not, but it might open things up a bit more where refineries would in some places be a better choice. Of course planets in a
If I had to hazard a guess as to who or what they were, they would be these. The first and most unlikely is a rebellion or uprising from the planets under Vasari rule. I can't see this one really working because I imagine if a planet-wide rebellion got that bad, the Vasari would pull out, quarantine the planet, glass it from orbit, then send in shock troops to finish the job. Population wiped out or pacified and rebllion stopped, pretty simple. The next possibility, while
I've installed SoA2 but when I enable it the checksum stays at zero and it doesn't run. Any clues?
Check to make sure you don't have an SoA2 file within an SoA2 file. When you open the mod file you should see such files as GameInfo, not another SoA2 file. Hope this helps.
I believe the last patch actually fixed the pirate raid dumps we were getting. Iirc IC did mention in the last patch that changing out the pirates before that patch would cause crashes. I might be messed up on that, but I thought I read it somewhere. Edit: Found it, this was probably what was crashing us when we tried it. Fixed bug where spawning too many pirates would cause a crash. Spawn ship info with count instead of just raw entitydefnames. (Entrenchment Only)
I can only speak for the mod I work for, Sacrifice of Angels 2 or SoA2 works with 1.05 entrenchment. As for your other question I would assume that is because they both get work done on them at the same time.
Hey Stress, will be sorry to see you go, glad to know you'll still be around though. Don't worry, we'll keep going with the mod. Good luck with everything that's going on.
Iirc and if there hasn't been a change in plans the orions will be the pirates.
Humans adapt to live, the borg live to adapt. Even with all the technological advances the feds have been making, a single ship assimilated with any of that technology or anyone on board having knowledge of it, would instantly tip the scales back into the borg's favor.
Hey Shimmer, Glad to hear it, we've honestly been needing to redo the balancing for awhile now. Thanks so much for the help!
Let's stop this right there. If you guys want to go back and forth fighting by all means do so, just not here. We do appreciate feedback. We are very much aware that the mod needs polishing, however polishing will not take place until the core work is done. Speaking of which the 2 gig dump creeping back up on us like that has forced us to do extra work now that would have been saved for a polishing stage otherwise (replacing models and such). Right now the priority for us is m
wow, what a way to start the week. I will try to track down the error for the dominion starbase and upload the fixed version to sync.
We're doing our best to keep uber ships out of the mod.
I almost lost a fully upgraded unicomplex to the AI doing that. One wave hits, then the next, then another and so on. Blew away over half it's hp before I could convince them a fleet of 12 cubes were a bigger threat lol. The unicomplex while powerful is nowhere near invulnerable. Very good at keeping small fleets from being a pain but deffinitely can be put in danger if you don't give it a support fleet.
The feds will be getting gimped, we had no intention of making them unstoppable. The dominion will probably also need some more attention as far as balance is concerned. The abilities put on the romulans are just placeholders, they will be getting better stuff. This new update will give all borg caps their abilities. Please remember the balance is a WIP, that being said we appreciate your feedback.
Excellent... it came out! OK, I drew red circles around them... see??? Those little white squares... I don't know what they are, except I'm pretty sure they shouldn't be there...
This is being adressed in the next patch. Those are what you get when you have missing particle effects, ships referencing a non-existent particle effect, or some other reason why the particle effect isn't showing up.
Sorry, fighters on the keldon was actually my fault. I forgot (again) the leviathan was in the colony role lol.
The unimatrix did not make it into this release. Our Borg expert has had a lot going on and was unable to finish, but don't worry, it'll get in. The romulan ship for the borg, I believe, is to keep the AI happy and fully functional. Will probably be replacing it at some point. As for the quick start ships, thanks for letting us know, it will be fixed. Also the typo for the cube has been corrected.
