Have an older computer running XP Home SP3, 1GB Ram, 256meg Vid, Vid supports per pixel and transparency. Everything seems to run fine except (and isn't there always an 'except' with computers?) Bootskins. Bootskin progress bar animation does not appear. Bootskins work fine on my other two computers (pretty much the same setup), but not on this one. Anyone have any ideas of what switches I might not have thrown? Or of what the problem migh

Super. Found it in the DesktopX folder in the Stardock main folder. Nice to have things hid away like that... :) Heck to get old. I knew I'd seen something about a util somewhere, but just couldn't pull it out. Thanks so much for the help Am going to give it a try as soon as my one computer (of course the one with the ani gifs on it) comes back from the repair shop (getting a new vid card) later today...

I know I read a post some where here on a program, or a program component, (I think from Stardock) that made it fairly simple to create an animated icon, but I can't find it to save my soul. If anyone has an idea of what I'm talking about please provide the name of the program/component or whatever you might use other than ImageReady. Many thanks, V

Web 2.0 age? I'm still trying to get used to the Web .009 one... :) Really, though, the new look sounds interesting to say the least and I'm sure StarDock will keep us peons in mind while they're developing things...

Went and checked mine after an early renewal (same reason - to help the sub drive) and it looks fine. Maybe just an early early glitch?

Didn't know where else to put this so decided to put it here... :) Hadn't checked out the local weather for a while, so you can imagine my surprise at seeing a link to MyColors (with weather powered by AccuWeather) on the AccuWeather website when I decided to take a look-see at what our forecast was supposed to be for tomorrow. A big congrats and kudos to StarDock!!! Way to go guys! Hope you get a ton o' business from it!!!

Well, then I kinda think it's up to us (those that do participate) to encourage those that don't (yet) to do so. I think (or at least this is the impression I have) that I am like many folk here - disabled; with WC (once I stumbled onto it) being a marvelous in-home therapy and, in my case, one of the few creative outlets I have left. I was a poacher for a while (just WP's) because I'm far from being flush. But after a relatively short time I s

To Tallsgirl and all the other regular contributors who're already paying the freight. Of course my post was NOT directed toward any of you. It was directed toward the 90k+ hits we've been told the site gets a day that are mostly snaggers, not contributors. Any, yes, I understand there's a worldwide recession (or whatever) going on now, but still... For less than the price of a cuppa joe a day for a month you get a year's worth of Wincustomize and help preserve the s

People, let's get it together!! If you want to dance you've got to pay the Piper a little bit! Do you really want to see WC turned into a 'commercial' site? Do you really want your skinning fix taken way? No, then pony-up a little dinero and let's get this band playing again! Based on the number of folk who hit this site a day we ought to be able to get that subscription thermometer popping out the top by the end of this weekend!!! Sheesh!!!!
Chasbo...I don't agree with you on politics. I'm just an old hippie who actually wanted there to be a revolution in the 60's. I actually like Jane Fonda so I guess you and I won't be kickin' it back together anytime soon!
Dude, you just never know. I was in Berkeley in the 60's, so... :) My politics run far more to Libertarian than any thing else. In other words, the less the gov't gets involved (for good or ill) in our lives the better off
