I don't question either your regional or national loyalty. I do question your self-imposed slavery. The engine that drives the US concept of "free market" (there is no such thing) are not 1099'ers, they are the recipients. Those who pay the bills are Schedule C people. Having been here in your absence, my sentiments are much the same. At the same time, many enjoy the games and I wouldn't deprive them. Perhaps a game category is the best answer. If it were my decision to make, I wouldn't spend money on it though. Seems it's up to the rest of us to be interesting.
