Paxx if your willing to create the code for user definable website skins then please go right ahead!
T-Man
Why don't one of you guys create a 'Say No To XP' wallpaper or something to that effect. And upload that wallpaper!
The CD will have skins for all the applications that are currently on WinCustomize.com. Though I do not have an exact count at this time of how many skins there are on the CD, but it appears that there will be over 2000 skins.
How about a baseball cap. That's what I would buy!
Henke, I don't think making the CD download is a good idea. The purpose of selling the CD is to decrease bandwidth, not increase it
Wow, this thread became busy in a real hurry. I'm skipping many messages... But I would like to have people look from the other side. Lets say you, as a Christian, go visit another site and they have a 'Muslim' section and no other religious connotations on their site. I would probably first assume that the admin of the website is of Muslim faith, but I would not start complaining to him about him about his choice of sections. I would accept his faith and his decision to pro
As far as public prayer in classrooms go it is becomming much more difficult to bring harmonany to everyone. My particular solution would be that the schools should not have classes for prayer or hold assembly's for prayer. But if they wanted to set aside a small time for private personaly prayer that would be fine. However I can see some people complaining about that too because by the virtue of having a 'prayer' time insinuates (sp jafo?) that there is a god and that would be intrui
It looks like things may be starting to get a little heated so I think its time to calm some things down before anything gets out of hand. First off, please look back to my first responses, as Paxx and DavidK have pointed out, I was playing the devil's advocate. And unfortunately no one even took notice that I had changed all the Christian categories to 'Religion' after my first response. Kenray, you do make excellent points. We, as Christians, need to lead the way by examp
(Merriam-Webster Dictionary) http://www.webster.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=ethics And by the same token, why should I have to be forced to accept others beliefs in their gods. You say that I would be forcing my beliefs, but it is also working the opposite way. Where I am being forced to either hinder my beliefs or promote others beliefs. If I concede to the belief that there is a place for other god's or my God does not exist then I am doing an imoral ju
(just for the sake of debate) Kenray: Ethically wrong, I disagree, it is ethically right! Definition of Ethic: the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation It is my 'moral duty and obligation' as a deciple of Christ to spread the 'good' news of Jesus to others. I believe you have confused Political Correctness with Ethics. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
The Christian section came about as a result of Dashboard. When Dashboard was brought in I duplicated the sections that were on Snoopsofts site. And with the new applications I have been just copying those sections. But for the sake of arguement and speaking as a Christian..."Thou shall have no false God's before me"...so as a Christian there is no other category for Religion. Unless we were to have Catholics, Baptist, Protestants, etc..So as a Christian I cannot put other gods
Oh, I forgot to add that there are still a few quirks in the system where some images are not the correct size. I'm still in the process of tweaking things and hope to have those problems fixed over the next day or two.
As many of you may already have noticed, you may be seeing the skin preview images as a 100x100 image instead of the normal 300x300 image. This is do to a new feature that was recently implemented. In an effort to increase your viewing pleasure you now have the option of viewing the 100x100 images for speed, or you may optimize for display and view the 300x300 images instead. If you are currently seeing the 100x100 images right now and would rather be seeing the larger ima
Ouch! That hurts. I feel sorry for those guys as they have had their share of problems lately. As being one who has spent quite a bit of time working on WinCustomize I can understand how difficult it must be to have to pull the plug. However, I do look forward to seeing what new endeavor's will come from them in the future!
Playing the devils advocate for a moment... Since skins are generally considered free, most people are going to assume that they are public domain and can be redistributed without permission. And since they are giving due credit to the authors I really do not see what the harm is. I personally would take it as a form of flattery that someone thought my skin was good enough that they wanted to get other people to use it. And if for some reason you do not with your skins to be redistribut
