deviantART had a holiday contest last year that produced some very nice results. check out some of the various wallpaper submissions here: http://www.deviantart.com/browse/?section=holiday

deviantART already has a (c) copyright "deviant" on all deviations though it probably needs to be a little clearer that the deviations cant be reposted elsewhere. anyhow, i contacted the webmaster of the site in question letting him know what he was doing is wrong. here was his response to me (unchanged, exactly as he typed and formatted): First, sorry for my bad english, I'm from France.. I know that I create wallpapers galeries of authors that I don't have their express autho

what constitues a referal? pixtudio has all their graphics hosted by wincustomize and therefore it only makes sense their referal rate would be high if you include that. somehow i can only believe that would be why their referal rate is higher. as for the text -vs- button issue; that might be the case. the fact is why should any site link another in one manner if that other site is not going to link them back in the same way? if WC used buttons then DA would link via a button (which w

one last thing. funny how you say, "saddening to see DevArt turned into a corporate tool of tgtsoft" when you do not even have an account. certainly depicts your lack of care for the site to begin with. why would it end up mattering to you since you do not even bother with deviantART anyhow?

jayg: simply because we do an interview with a new developer we are now a corporate tool for them? if there is any site that is corporate within our community then you are visiting it _right now_. i guess if we were to do an interview with hoverdesk creator thibaud then we would be his corporate tool as well. what if we did an interview with brad? would be then be stardock's corporate tool? wow ... you made all the sense in the world. thanks!

this is the same guy that ripped someone's work from DA, which was given a DD back in Jan 2001, and then backdated the rip to 1999 and attempted to claim it as his own. what the moron failed to realize is that the wall, which has a pic of Jessica Alba in it, used a picture that was not taken until late 2000!

interesting stats there brad...sounds like an exciting increase, especially in the first day of the bandwidth increase, with virtually no advertising of it. will be interesting to see what happens once we announce it!

no news because _only_ the image and file server has moved, thus not everything being completed yet. we still have to move over the webserver, the database server and the mail/misc server. we expect it all to be moved today, but ya never know. in any event, once everything is moved, you can bet that we'll announce it!

thanks ... glad to see the new bandwidth is working out. for those that see it slow, you can add the following entry to your HOSTS file if nslookup doesnt return the following IP's for the following addresses: 66.28.104.11 files.deviantart.com 66.28.104.11 images.deviantart.com If you use those then DA will be _considerably_ faster, thanks to our 100Mbps line.

...and i cant believe i submitted that without saying this: DNS has updated for images.deviantart.com and files.deviantart.com but has not propagated out everwhere yet. you will need to change that download speed statement once you take a gander, for yourself, just how fast our new bandwidth really is.
