hmmm, I'm seeing the DL v1.5 listed toward the bottom there TR; though there are some v1.5DAs next to it. Try playing another DL game, or a TA game. Those seem to both work at getting a Fave Race.

at Seilore: no, you just have Tech Brokering off- that is you can't trade techs that you didn't research yourself
oh how I love that you love this game; we are very lucky for it. Sounds very cool Mr. Frogboy, very cool indeed.
Episode IV: A Strange Encounter February 8th, 2227 "Madam President, the 'Joyous Day' has notified us that it has located a suitable world for habitation, Class 8 on the Meiers Scale. However, that does present us with another problem. The citizens from the other former colonies are wondering when they are going to get planets of their own again, and well, there's been more than one scuffle. We used 'New Vermilion' and 'Veridian' on the two planets in this sy
yes, but that one is listed in the GalCiv Wiki (someone must have just updated that in the last few days) Ninja Edit
currently the "Save Map" isn't working, though I am unsure if that is because I'm using the Twilight 1.99rc Beta or not.
I did it again lol [link]https://forums.galciv2.com/327068[/link] gosh, i rock
Quite by accident I "found" these new cheat codes in Twilight; I have not tested them in Dark Avatar or Dread Lords. They are not listed on the GalCiv Wiki. To enable "cheat mode" add the cheat parameter to your shortcut Should look like this "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\GalCiv2\Twilight\GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe" cheat Shift + T= Summons 4 Arnorian ships (One Small, Medium, Large, and Huge hull- all w/ weapons and defens
You can get the entire formulaic rundown here: [link]https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Ship_combat[/link] However, in any version, your defense is never functionally higher than what number is stated, unless you are getting an in-battle modifier (Luck, Courage, or Fleet Modules) The first sequence is "functionally" correct but you don't have 8 defense, you'll either have 4 full on defense or 2 points, it will depend on what weaponry is striking yo
Go to the Metaverse button on the left hand of the Forums screen; go to My Account, and when that drops down go to "Edit My Characters". Make sure the character you want to show up has its "Default" button highlighted. That should do it for you. If, in the future, you want to change or access your personal account information, you will be UNABLE to do it through the galciv forums. In that case, go to [link]www.forums.stardock.com[/link] and use the same screenname/pa
well.... Immense Map, All Abundant, Tight Clusters Korath colonized their cluster just fine. After that was done, they went after resources. They had the range to reach the far clusters later on (the next closest was about 7 sectors away) but I never saw them building colony ships. This could however be because they were still in their Resource phase. Unfortunately, I got my first ever OOM error for TA; which considering that I never colonized anythin
Well its definitely not an AI problem; I've run some Tiny All Abundant maps with the Korath, and they hvae been colonizing just fine- following the same criteria/method as the Yor; only crossing my "border" once they know they don't have to worry about culture flipping. So now its off to larger maps.
The Difficulty Medal takes the average of the difficulties and Rounds Down. (Cakewalk is = 1, Suicidal = 12) The Alignment is the same way, but takes whatever value your race had in game. That range is from 0-100. So one could play 3 games at Neutral (50) and 1 game at Evil (Pond Scum = 0) and you would get an Alignment of 37.5- definitely in the Chaotic Evil range. I haven't done testing (though I suppose I could) to see where the exact numbers fall,
well "technically" they are; these are really just closely related genetic cousins (it HAS been over 10,000 years between the two). Its a shame that they have the same disorder the Ancients had- y'know the whole Megalomaniac Do-No-Wrong Syndrome
I'd crack a Republican joke, but that seems too easy
the first one, because the Combined Score value (Earned Score) rises MUCH faster than the degradation due to game length and Inherent Score. So you know though...games where you build everything up, lovingly called "Mumblers" after a GC player that excels at them, are EXTREMELY tedious and have lots of micromanagement.
yes and no.... from what we can gather/infer each map size has an "inherent" score; though each level is not that dramatic from the direct previous (but Tiny to Immense is a big jump). So a game score is- very roughly- (Inherent Value + Earned Score {the military, social, research scores earned in game}) divided by game turns. That is then multiplied by the Game Type to give you the score that comes up on the Victory Screen. Conquest victories are worth the m
There is something I want to clarify: I should not have said the AI will "never" colonize within one's own or another race's sphere of influence, but it won't happen until: 1.) All the planets in the immediate range are colonized. In general the AI goes through 3 colony rushes, the opening Rush; the final habitables Rush, and the Extreme Worlds Rush. 2.) The AI behaves differently once it has Extreme Colonization. It then enters a ne
updated the Empire rankings as of October 10th, 2008 and updated the links so that they correctly work.
hey GW, thanks for the nod; I had actually kinda forgotten that I had made that thread! I'll update the links (and ranks) later today :-)
I posted insight into the "why" some AI races don't seem to expand in TA. LOL, this is now my second major find/explanation to the Devs (I also wrote a post on the MCC explaining how its info was written incorrectly in the xml, it was then patched). I deserve a cookie. Oatmeal raisin are my favorite, but I'll go with peanut butter also [e digicons][/e] Anyhow, you can find the post here: [link]https://forums.galciv2.com/326874[/link]
This has been brought up before over the past few months as more and more people have played TA, but...as soon as someone says "The Korath never left their home system in my game!" another player will chime in and say "Well, they wiped the map in mine." So what's going on? Is one person lying? Or can they both be telling the truth? In fact, they ARE both correct! I've been playing a LOT of Immense Maps, Rare Habitables lately with the new TA beta, but its somethi
This has been noted before, and it seemed to be unique amongst just certain AIs. But as I've done some testing, I've also only been noticing it on larger maps. For example, i've been playing an Immense Rare Habitables. And the Drengin never colonized anything outside of Drengia. And I couldn't figure out why, until I played a Tiny map against the Yor. The Tiny Map was on Suicidal, and I was just testing some stuff out, so i sat on my HW system.&nb
its only been 5 days KP! I'm pretty much planning on Saturday/Sunday updates only. So basically a new "episode" once a week.
LOL, well that's kinda the "Tell me everything about the game and how to do it" kind of question- but I know where you're coming from. No matter what, Suicidal is hard. Its called Suicidal for a reason. The AI (esp if yer like me and use Max CPU) is crazy smart, and they get massive bonuses nearly across the board. So either you have to exploit the AI, or you need to out-maneuever the AI. Out-maneuvering is very hard, because you really need to beat the AI at the c
