Stardock people have been saying this must mean your video card does not support Shader Model 2.0. I have an Intel 82865G video card. [...]How am I still getting a white screen?
You're getting a white screen because your card does not support Shader 2.0, see this link to the relevant intel webpage that shows this. Also, the game's minimum requirements state that it needs a "DirectX 9.0c 3D Video
I don't remember off hand if we purposely let the other HQ's give you access to more issues in the state that you build the HQ. But you're right, that is what is happening.
there is little reason to build a Campaign HQ anywhere
Well, you do get money from each Campaign HQ, and the amount you get is increased each time you upgrade the HQ. So there's that.
Even if you're not in New York, you should still go through the trouble of sending the letter. Just change the auto-generated text to say that although you are not a resident of the state of NY, it's still a waste of taxpayer's money. That's what I did. :CONGRAT:
I'd like to point out that right next to the score is the Editor's Choice badge. :D
Depends on what kind of memory you need, and where you get it from. If I were you, I'd go to Bestbuy's website and use their computer memory finder. It let's you choose which computer you have and then tells you what memory you need, and how much it'll cost. Once you know what kind of memory you need, you can shop around for a better price, or just buy it.
it says i have 448 mb of ram, can you give it more?
You can add more RAM memory by purchasing more at a store like Best Buy. It's super easy to install, but if you need help, you can read this link or google: "How To Install RAM" and find your own instructions depending on the level of help you need.
The three votes from DC are added to Maryland's votes. So Maryland is worth 13 instead of it's usual 10. This is how it was in Political Machine 2004 as well.
To open the ports for multiplayer, you need to go to Control Panel->Windows Firewall. Then, IF YOU HAVE VISTA: There will then be a link to "allow a program through the firewall". If you click the link, then you can either add a program, or add a port. IF YOU HAVE XP: Go to the "exceptions" tab. In either case, you'll want to add ports, so click the "Add Port" button. Add UDP port
for 1) and 2), thanks we'll look into it! for 3), no. There is not a way to save a multiplayer game, even if it is LAN. Thanks for the feedback, ~C
I would like to try with this updated version but do not see how to get it from impulse site.
You don't get the game from the Impulse site, you get Impulse from the Impulse site. As listed at the site I linked you to: "Impulse is Stardock’s new state of the art digital distribution platform. Impulse allows users to quickly and easily find their favorite game or so
Well we appreciate it :CONGRAT:
You play campaign mode to unlock characters.
Driver Date: 1/25/2007 21:00:48
Your video driver still says the same date as it did before. Were you unable to find newer drivers? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you need help, follow these steps: 1)You have an ATI card, so you can go to the ATI website (www.ATI.com) and under "Support" click on the link for "ATI Graphics Drivers". 2) To find the drivers you need to select your Operating System.
The file "PM2008_Launcher.exe" should be located in the same place as the rest of the files, namely "C:/Program files/Stardock Games/The Political Machine 2008/". If it's not there for some reason, you can run the game without the launcher, just use the file called "PolMachine2008.exe" which is located there as well. If neither of these files exist then something went wrong during the install. Your best bet in that case is to uninstall and reinstall the game via Impulse. <b
All updates for our games can be obtained through Impulse
I like the grade of "A+" but what's with the last paragraph of the review (it's a blurb about spore)?
Driver Date: 1/25/2007 21:00:48
While they aren't terribly old, it may be a good idea to check to see if there are newer drivers for your video card.
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium Card Name: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M SeriesManufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. Chip Type: ATI Radeon Xpress Series (0x5A62)
You have an ATI card, so you can go to the ATI website (www.ATI.com) and under "Support" click on the link for "ATI Graphics Driv
Driver Date: 3/25/2008 09:44:28
Okay, good, you've updated your video drivers.
Debug Message: Version 1.02 last updated on: Wed Jun 18 10:47:55 2008
There is a newer version of the game available. Download that and let us know if you still have issues. Thanks, ~C
Thanks for the Kudos! It's good to get posts like this mixed in with the people who are having problems. Helps the morale..
Well I've had the game for a week now, have had no problems with it

I have had no probelms on my nearly 4 year old laptop.
Both great news, could you guys head over to this thread and post your PC specs? I'd like to get a general idea of what a typical user of PM2008 has as a PC (whether they have

The .pdf didn't mention how to let ports through the firewall, so if you need directions on that, here they are (monk, you can put these in your pdf if you'd like): To open the ports for multiplayer, you need to go to Control Panel->Windows Firewall. Then, IF YOU HAVE VISTA: There will then be a link to "allow a program through the firewall". If you click the link, then you can either add a program, or add a port. <span style
