I’m not entirely familiar with the capabilities of Stardock Central, but as far I know it’s only for files of the official sort? Right now there are dozens of maps and mini-mods being hosted by whoever has the space, and a centralized place to upload all of them would be quite useful. I visited the Empire of War Files site a lot back in the day, and I think a site for Sins of a Solar Empire would only benefit the community.

Well I didn't see any posts about this so I'm assuming most people havn't seen [link="http://media.pc.ign.com/media/775/775249/vids_1.html"]this[/link] yet. I think it was a pretty fair review considering hardly any games break the 9.0 barrier. Generally, they praised the unique balance of 4X and RTS elements, while criticizing the lack of a campaign, and game length. Tis fairly simple, just open it up in Photoshop or whatever, replace the logo on both the normal and alpha channel things and then load the game.

Small update today revealing the Soviet Light Cruiser. It hasn’t been armed yet, but you can see the main body of the ship. This will be the mainstay of the Soviet Fleet and the most produced vessel in your armada.

Just adding on to Stump's post. We are working on this mod currently, even though SoSE hasn't been released. If possible, it would be great to talk to someone who has the beta, just so we can figure out some of the gameplay mechanics. I know several of our staff, including myself have preordered, but it looks like we'll have to wait a bit for the next beta. Any help would be great.
