Good things come to those that wait.

I recommend the purchase, you'll probably be mad that you didn't find or buy this game earlier... it's on my Top 5 of all time list. the developer support for this game is unmatched... galciv2 and DA are both still being updated, (with FINAL revisions coming soon 2.0)after nearly 2 years thats something to say!
in TA i found another use for cargo hulls... with the new components using a cargo hull adding weapons, shields, reinforced hull points(new +5hps), battle command module(new +25% to attack for first round), and warp field bubbles(new +1,2,3 to fleet speed depending on researched tech) to create my Battle command ship. its not a potent attack ship but it does it job coordinating my small hulled ships into a deadly attack fleet. (just an example playing as the terrans at war with the drengin whom
With only 3 races at this time TA is still a monumental expansion, the new tech trees breathe new life into this game...and i think my girlfriend is boycotting me i think, but its hard to tell since i haven't been able to pry myself off my computer! anyway rls669 good choice on the preorder its definately worth it!
Don't forget that the higher your approval rating the more influence power you can wield(ie larger border, and the respect of other cultures)
being able to travel to another star system faster than it takes you to get to mars!
joining an empire is much like joining a team, though you don't really play together, you earn points and medals for games played on metaverse which contributes to you empires overall score.(about the only difference between metaverse games and regular games is the point system and consistancy checks for cheating)
15,000 / ~300 = 50B per planet average. That is pretty amazing. Clearly this is from the days of v1.2. I don't think anything like this has been seen in well over a year. It was on 1.2, most planets had about 22B, was usually the norm anymore drastically effected morale. and again i have no idea how many planets i had i do know it was over 275.
my home planet always depends on what precursor artifact are there, but if none no farms or embassies. usually 3 to 4 factories and 1 power plant, 1 planetary defense the rest economic structures.
no idea, best i've done is 15 Trillion controlling 275+ planets.(number of planets is a ruff guess i just don't remember, but the pop is almost exact when the game ended my pop was 14.909T
I'm pretty excited with the new expansion getting ready to hit beta, the new technology trees should change the game considerably. But what of the combat viewer it has remained the same since the begining. its clumsy, ships will pretty much crash into each other on the intial attack, plus it lacks damage textures. the battle viewer with a little work could be much nicer eye candy graphically. I want to see my nano rippers tear holes or perhaps completely blow off sections of my enemies hull,
an actual influence starbase won't contribute to a colonies influence, building on a influence resource(the blue resource on the map) will help magnify a colonies influence. as far as embassies i only build them on special tiles(pre-cursor artifacts), influence starbases is all you need to wage an influence war. your influence border depends on the amount of influence in a certian area(much like the game Civilizations border system), the more influence on a planet the larger it grows. the
Very Interesting, i can't wait to see everyone's technology suggestions when the beta gets going
there are stand alone patches that can be found on this site but the easiest way to keep the game up to date, is by registering your copy and downloading stardock central. stardock central will download and install all the newest patches for you.
upgrading your resource starbase over an influence resource increases your overall influence ability, also you can use constructors to focus your influence in specfic locations(ie building 3 influence starbases in an enemy sector will increase your tourism income and your overall influence in that sector maybe even enough to "flip" the planets to your control). be aware that flipping the AI's planets to you control will hurt relations with that civ and they may declare war. to answer your last
1.7b2 -ships leaving orbit for the first time the speed of the ships isn't correct but only for the first turn. -warp drive 4 is better than warp drive 5
Hey everybody, This is just a informative post most helpful for Nvidia Graphics card owners or people with Nforce chipsets. Nvidia has released a new forceware driver for their video cards(162.18_forceware_winxp_32bit_english_whql) last month although i have found a problem with the resolutions(my monitor is a 19" widescreen with a normal res of 1440x900, but with the new driver that res no longer fits my screen now i run 1400x1050, which seems to fit just fine.) but the real news is the new N
I've had a recent CTD, that keeps repeating... I saved one turn before the crash and i can only get about two turns past that after reloading the save. This is first time i've had any problems with 1.61 it seemed to be very stable. Debug Message: Version v1.61 Dark Avatar last updated on: Wed Jun 13 14:10:36 2007 Debug Message: Checking DX Version. This Christmas I will be building my next computer, if you have a good understanding of what goes on inside your computer and can read a manual you could probably build your own its much cheaper and you can make it how you want it. here's my current plan for christmas, all items are from newegg.com. -Sunbeam Transformer IC-TR-B Blue Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail $74.99 -ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard $139.99 -EVGA GeF
email stardock they'll fix it. then download all the lastest patches for DL and DA
could be your sound drivers, i would update them first.
Ahem. An atom of Carbon, will always be an atom of carbon. fission or fusion, would be molocules (a combination of atoms) changing into different molocules, another arangement of atoms, because of pressure, heat, etc.. Example. If you take a molocule of H2O (water (2 hydrogen atoms, 1 Oxygen atom)), take away the hydrogen atoms and add an extra Oxygen atom, it becomes O2, or Pure oxygen. An even better example would be how a plant turns CO2 into oxyge
God is always a touchy subject, weather or not you believe in God or not I don't think is the biggest problem... the problem lies when someone thinks they need to kill other people because they don't think the same, sorry to say its not god telling you to kill people but more a human need for power, ambition, or like sheep they are just plain ignorant. Personally i tend to be more a scientfic thinker so i really don't believe in god portraid through the eyes of "organized religon", but weather
your problem is your video drivers, you can check for an update but as far as i know its a problem with Nvidia drivers and Vista.
The dreadlords came first... dark Avatar is the expansion, the two games are pretty much one, dark avatar has more, err, everything and dreadlords is basic. once you play da you'll probably never play Dl
