It's actually a relevant question being asked by people who do make skins and contribute to the site on a regular basis. I don't think getting a little clarification, not just for the folks who put in their time and effort and then share the results, but also for us who do not skin WB, yet, but use Vista, is to much to ask for. Turning this into an imagined assault on Stardock is both inappropriate and completely unnecessary. I'm pretty sure most people asking for clarification in this threa

I un-installed WB 5, backed up all my skins, (in two places ), and installed the new WB6 on my Vista 64 bit system and no problems so far except that the sidebar will not update but it really doesn't matter. So far so good. Now just waiting for an update to Icon Packager so I can use that again. Good work Stardock!!! Very nice upgrade!!! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=

Uninstalled WB 5, backed up all of my skins, auto-archived then installed WB6 and it is working great on my Vista 64 system. My only question is where are the skins above? I am an OD and WC subscriber. Do you need to go elsewhere to find these skins? I really wanted to try out the Turbo skin. All in all, really nice update. Congratulations Stardock!!!

As a qualifier, I know how to change the user icon, but that's not what I am referring to in my post above. What I am referring to is the skin author creating and including several user icon choices that go with the skin. Just didn't want anyone to think they needed to tell me how to change the user icon

I pretty much stink at making WB skins, am hoping that the new Skin Studio will be a little more understandable, to me anyway. All that aside, what I think of what would be cool in a skin is if the skin author included a way for the download'ee to customize the user icon and offer multiple choices for that and I don't know if it's possible but also offer several choices, or variations of the start button. Other than that I lean towards functional and clean skins and shy away from what I consi

I'm really happy to hear that someone is working on the Xion skin for the Vienna 2 masterpiece collection. Once I have that I'm pretty sure my life will be complete. Thank you all for being so generous with your time, effort and impressive skills.

This looks awesome IR. I'll buy as soon as you release. The only suggestion I would offer is maybe a version without the skin name on the task bar and start menu. That's just my own personal preference tho... looks exceptional. Can't wait to see the finished product

Yes, I disagree with several of the points in the article, Vista has been much more stable for me than XP was and also noticeably quicker at booting. May have to do with the hardware you are running it on but I really like Vista and being able to run 4+ gigs of ram on the 64 bit version amongst a variety of other improvements. The good news is that like all MS releases, it will just improve and I am really liking the new Direct X 10 stuff even though it's few and far between atm.

I have posted several times about the lack of 64 bit compatibility and the only responses I get are things like "when it's ready", "nobody said it would work with Vista 64 bit", "c'mon, you need to expect beta to be incomplete", etc., etc., etc., . I have been a OD subscriber for years now and have never seen such a lack of information and abundance of double talk. If it's not possible, just say so, if it has a release date, say that. Instead, SD has been strangely silent and simply let, for

Over the years, I have owned Gateway PC's, Dell's , HP and IBM's. I even had a Compaq for a few weeks, all desktop models and Toshiba and Dell laptops. Everyone of those systems had their problems and the level of support varied based on what time frame I purchased and who I got on the phone. I finally got to the point around 10 years ago that I just simply started researching parts and building my own. So far, that has been a much better experience for me and when I call tech support, I'm t

Well, I'm not sure if this is the correct format/forum for this question but it would be really nice to get an answer other than when it's ready for when Stardock plans on supporting WB6 for us Vista 64 bit-ers. I realize it's beta, it's almost always in a some form of beta state but just a general time frame would be appreciated.

After all this time waiting and waiting for WB6 and it still does not support Vista 64 bit. More than just a little disappointing. But then again, us Vista 64 bit users are in the minority and not a priority. Empty promises or did I completely mis-read everything that has been posted. Oh well, I'm pretty much past caring at this point.

I have the 8800 GTS and have tried every "new" driver since 158.18 and there is something wrong with everyone of them, raster artifacts, not loading Direct Draw correctly etc. and I just keep going back to the 158.18 drivers to make everything work as advertised. Nvidia seems to be having a lot of issues with their drivers lately, at least that has been my experience on my system over the last 4-5 months.

For some reason, I always seem to have two (2) Object Dock Plus icons in my system tray. Regardless of which one I close it shuts down Object Dock Plus. This has been the case when I was running XP and is still the case with Vista. Anyone else seeing this and maybe someone has an explanation?

Can't believe there is so much made about this device. Ditto to most of the comments above. Think I'll wait till the version with the Terra-former, Transporter and universal Translator comes out and get it only when they rename to the iT.
