I still use the ol' windows Pbrush, probably because I started with it and soley did my first skins with it by replacing existing bitmaps in a theme with my own, but I finally advanced to PSP7 and I love it ( I'd be divorced if I bought Adobe).

Probably my all time favorite dx theme goes back to the community skin, Heavy Equipment; love the animations, graphix, and a degree of functionalism. I prefer though, a minimal approach to consumed screen space, yet with great graphix and some slick animations. I like ease of user capability to conform the theme to one's specific needs (it's always nice to include blank icon holders, menus, etc. for this purpose). PC monitors. My work pc is a laptop with a slew of utilities blueprints, daily downloaded jobs and a billing procedure uploaded at end of day - what it is, is what it is. My home pc is another matter though, which can best be described politely as a love affair (as some would call it an addiction). I prefer instant access, not minimizing windows or apps or mousing from A to B to C, so I want a small border which all else fits into; I say small as my screen is only 1024x768 (flat screens are salty),

May I make a suggestion? Find the animations you like (I started with Heavy Equipment), and tear them apart with a graphix program and by opening each piece of it in desktop x. Yes, you'll have frustrations, failed attempts and lots of work, but the experience of the learning efforts will give you what you want. Who said that..? No pain no gain?

You need to determine if the criticism is constructive or otherwise, regardless of who it's coming from - thus, "Out of the mouths of babes..." As a writer, I can vouchsafe that every parachute jump is a scarey event, negative criticism hurts, but I've found jewels searching through the rubble of malicious discontent. I hope this helps somewhat, may not ease your bruising, but then again emotions are in direct opposition to logic...

Hey - got Desktop X ok and the walls, but nada on WindowBlinds and Object Bar (I've been using Paul's orion icons for a while now, so nothing new there, just great art). Any one else experiencing this?

Taking my skins off the newest list is trite to say the least, and paramont to hitting someone that can't hit back. WinCustomize has always been my prefered site since its inception, but after your actions tonight, not your words, but your acts, perhaps what davad70 says is true. Why don't you go a step further and remove all of my skins entirely?

A few thoughts: Yes, this will always be a Stardock sight, but then again it wasn't too tough to figure out in the beginning, although I do agree that with such a fantastic advertising site which WinCustomize is for Stardock, the new fee seems a little like gouging.
