I definitely think you ought to look elsewhere. Once the icon package is applied, unless specified otherwise, IconPackager.exe will not be loaded at system boot. I have an Audigy 2 ZS too and I really don't see how IP could interfere with your sound card. Maybe a PCI latency problem? just a suggestion... same problem here when WindowBlinds is loaded in conjunction with WinDVD full screen or 3DNA Desktop. But it depends on what WB skin you use, Steve Grenier's OS X Tiger theme shows that flaw for instance, but no all of'em do.

I think that if they were looking to switch they should have gone with AMD. AMD chips would make the price of an Apple PC fall a bit - thereby making a Mac Mini even more affordable. Instead I think by using Intel that Apple PC price will go up a bit. Let me update you on that. I got news for ya:

no Macs will not run on x86 no systems wont dual boot mac/windows its just a architecture change, not a switch to x86. This is a bad move cause now developers have to recompile, and passibly do major tweaking to lots of software. I don't think you have any evidence to substantiate those claim
