Seems like icons aren't the only thing on their site either... If you try and navigare their site or just change the 'catalog=' number in their URL you can get to other sections including winamp skins etc...

Seems like: http://www.deskcity.com/catalog.asp?page=3&catalog=11&pagesize=&all= is on a bit of a ripping spree as well... if you navigate through their icon pages, there are loads of creators that have been ripped off (myself included).
Found this: http://www.aha-soft.com/cicons/index.htm a second ago... It pretty much does what I was thinking of doing (i.e. the icon colour-tinting) It doesn't do the XP effects I was thinking of though. Needless to say, I'll probably not bother anymore... I'm just a little too busy and it's too much work, for something someone's already made
Glen Eric Reed: Yeah... I thought about that. I tried tinting a few icons manually... just to see, and it often looks better if you greyscale then tint. They looked pretty cool, but in a weird only-one-shade (colourized) sort of way. Although I guess I could do selective tinting based on hue, to tweak it further. As for the XP transparency idea, that _would_ be cool... basically it
I checked out Desktop Architect... and it does some cool stuff, but mostly fairly standard icon replacement and tweaks... but loads of features. I tried WindowFX a while ago... so I'm not sure if any more features have been added since I last tried it. I seem to remember it was mainly about animating dialogs, and window transparency etc... nothing to do with icons as far as I can remember. Is anyone actually interested in my idea? Basically, it would take several week
I was recently thinking about creating a new desktop tweaking app... It would have all the usual desktop icon/wallpaper tweaks & options, except it would also have 'colour-tinting' feature which would be able to tint all your icons on your desktop in 1 click... to match your wallpaper, basically you could 'tint' them any colour you liked (or greyscale them). Also, if you were running XP you could alter the transparency of your desktop icons to see through to the wallpaper under

Sorry forgot the URL: http://www.themexp.org/view_info.php?id=228
I just found what I think is a rip on themexp.org. It's 'Aqua Scenery' by adni18. Uploaded by 'eclipse'. I guess it could be adni18 under a different name(and email?) but I just thought I'd let you know adni18. I didn't realise that ThemeXP.org had a wallpapers section, I've got a funny feeling I'll be finding a lot more rips in there...
I must admit controlling a navigation system with your mind does sound like a cool idea. Imagine playing Quake VII with your mind running on a GeForce 8 with some VR shades beaming the image direct to your retinas... now that would be a hell of an experience
If you want to give IconPhile a go, you can find it here: http://www.virtualplastic.net/scrow/iphile.html
Damn BoXXi... I thought I had it bad
Then again... the 'mask' you are wearing is also based on the website you have chosen to support. (e.g. DA, DM etc..) So I guess there is some logic in there somewhere.
I certainly see where shoggot is coming from and do see his point. But it would be a little annoying to see a whole bunch of skins on display and not know who made them until after the contest. A bit like having an Olympics with everyone in masks I guess
The Patchwork icon set https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?searchtext=patchwork&library=2&sort=updatedate&order=Descending&image1.x=21&image1.y=18 by Raistlin-Elijah is a Rip... I reported it several months ago, but it looks like he may have re-uploaded/updated it. It's plain to see it's a rip of various copland's icons mixed in with some of Scrow's, random XP icons and quite a few of Jon Wojan's ( http://www.digitalgarage.net ) glass icons. And there is no permission in the
I totally agree with you 100% Koasati... a rip is a rip, in theory anyway. In practice, it's near impossible to stop every rip. If you think about it like that, all the Aqua/BeOS skins/icons etc.. are rips and should all be removed. Also all the XP skins/wallpapers/icons are also rips. I might be wrong, but if my memory serves me correctly, I think IconFactory created the XP icons... they are owned by Microsoft of course, but there is a _name_ to but to them... so I gu
hehe... treetog beat my question by seconds
Can a skin creator enter representing one site (e.g. DeviantArt) with one skin... and another site (e.g. DeskMOD) with another?
Thanks for the URL's and help everyone... I'm going to check out that MailWasher thing and see if I can cut the spam back down to 'acceptable' levels again. I like the program's feature for 'bouncing' the spam back at them
Jafo: Yeppp.. I reckoned that was what they did too, so I think I'm not even going to bother on that front Third Eye: Yeah as I mentioned above, I have a hotmail account for filling in forms & sign up junk... but since my main account has been around for a while even that is starting to get hit now...
Hiya people... Just a quick question... Is there any way to effectively combat email spam? Lately, I've been finding my inbox increasingly flooded with totally useless emails and it's just about reached the point where I can't ignore them anymore... it's getting annoying, really annoying. Now, I know it's suppose to be a criminal offence to spam in most places, and they all have
Maya is a really top end Commercial 3D Modelling & Animation package (think 3D Studio MAX)... very expensive as well
