My mother sent this to me. It echoes how I feel bout this whole thing, pretty much. MEDITATION OR PRAYER BEFORE AS YOU PREPARE TO GO TO VOTE Thank You, the Power of Healing and Transformation in the Universe, that Your energy has moved through human beings in the past and inspired them to create democratic institutions that would give me and others this wonderful opportunity to participate in shaping our world. I know that the outcome

These scare tactics reek highly of "election trick" to me. Who knows, maybe there really were explosives, etc. But lest we forget how long ago the invasion was? Does it seem not just a bit coincidental to anyone else that all this came out just days before November 2? You know what this says to me? Bulls***. That's right. Someone wants you to be scared. And someone wants your vote. Because he "warned us" about it. Please. John Kerry oughtta call him on

This from the cover of Time Magazine : "The Morning After: On November 3, assuming we have a decision, America will wake up to either a President returning to office or a newly elected one. To the victor goes a nation dviided. A nation split over its place in the world, over its basic values, over its future direction. No matter who wins,

I think little_whip had the right idea. Though one may claim to have evidence and present said evidence, the fact of the matter is there will always be the human element. We interpret said evidence in different ways, based on our own backgrounds and education. Taking the temperature example, someone from Texas, Arizona, or one of those southern states might laugh at the idea that 89 degrees was "hot." In fact, a person from this area might say to such

All very good reasons for voting for John Kerry. I can't add to this. Great article (it's a shame nobody's replied, either to debate or support).

Just stop. Wait. Look at her for a second. What does she tell you? What does her picture say to you? Who is she? What matters about her appearance? It'd be interesting if someone could find a picture of a Bush voter, so we could compare and contrast the two.

2nd amendment huh? Interesting. This conversation is about to get way off topic. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." If I played Mr. Literal here this would mean to me 1) Militia = citizens drafted into military service; 2) keep and bear Arms = everyone has the right to own weapons. Playing Devil's Advocate here: st

Dabe, I applaud your efforts and hope that someone decides to read this list. Unfortunately, it would seem to me that most of your support will come from people already voting for Kerry. As the election comes down to the wire, it's going to be harder and harder to get people to change their minds. Hopefully, all Americans would take these facts into consideration before deciding whom to vote for. Thanks for speaking out.

It's interesting to read this because I'm beginning to understand why certain people don't trust... oh hell, I'll just come out and say it... hate John Kerry. I can't say I personally agree with this, but I can see where this dislike would come from. Let me ask you this, though... suppose he did come out and say "I was wrong, and I'm sorry." Would that change your opinion of the man? I'm not asking if you'd vote for him but just how you'd view him

I'm too young to have been around in JFK's time, but I always hear he was a good president. Him and FDR. And lest we forget about Abraham Lincoln... but maybe that's going too far back. Recently there haven't been choices I'd be 100% comfortable voting for (maybe Dean, but then again I was a fan of

No real surprise here, although I haven't heard of some of these people: 1. Howard Dean 2. Carol Moseley-Braun 3. Bob Graham 4. Joe Lieberman 5. John Kerry P.S. I can make myself more credible by calling myself "Reverend"? And all this time I didn't know... <img src="../imag

I welcome the responses thus far. I'm going to put my two cents in as this discussion continues, though: drmiller: Nope, no name calling either. But to clue you in.... the Democrats think that *their* way is right way to the exclusion of our way. So *both* sides are guil

Yes I read your *entire* post! And no, I missed NOTHING! What you said was that the electoral vote didn't matter. (Your words, not mine.) And I'm pointing out that it *did* matter. Before this turns into a "tastes great" "less filling" debate... let me just come right out and say it: Bush won the Presid

My fellow Americans, I have a feeling that you and I are a lot alike. We both value the Constitution. We both love living in America. We both believe in God. We both watch Football and/or Baseball. We both are saddened by the memory of 9/11. There may be other similarities, too. We both might have brown hair. Or blue eyes. We both might drive the same car. So here's my question: why do you hate me? I certainly don't hate you

Thanks, friend. I'm sorry if I put words in your mouth, stevendedalus. Where'd drmiller go? I was just beginning to enjoy my debate with him.

Excuse me....But if he won the election we voted him in. Case closed, next case. BTW Bush DID win the electoral vote! Final score Bush 271 Gore 266 Excuse me, but did I SAY that Gore won the Electoral Vote? No, I don' t think that I did. But again, I think maybe you didn't read my whole post. Maybe

Actually you inferred it when you said " It's only "sedition" because it's anti-Bush? After that Grim agreed with me. So basically you tarred him with the same brush It seems very clear to me that you're avoiding the issue here. Maybe I did "tar him" with the same brush, but if so it was inadvertent.

And BTW his way IS the American way. We (the american people) voted him into office. *Shakes his head* WRONG. The Supreme Court voted him in. Yeah, he "won" the election, but you can't say that the American People voted him in. I mean I guess if you're gonna get technical, the Supreme Court jus

My point, just to clarify, was the fact that he (stevendedalus) is/was attempting to call for the troops to think about how they felt and then vote. It's not like he's calling for a mutiny or a coup d'etat. He's calling for VOTES. Not a revolution, not an insurrection. VOTES. This is not your dictionary definition of sedition (and speaking of which the President is only a "lawful authority" because the People make him that), this is one person voicing

It's only "sedition" because it's anti-Bush? That's rich. It's almost like you're calling him a traitor. That someone would attempt to inspire someone to think before they vote is "sedition" is new to me. One would hope that we would all think about this. And another thing: I had hoped the day would never come when one of my fellow Americans is charged with "sedition" for speaking out against the President. I can see my hope has died.
