Compact menu problem in WindowBlinds WinCustomize Forums

I have run into a problem that I never had before. I like compact menus better than the standard size, so when I download a skin and it doesn't have a compact menu, I will make one. I usually get everything lined up right. However, with this skin, the Programs button is hanging way off the left side of the start panel. I have tried adjusting size and content margins, but nothing changes. Can someone enlighten me on what I need to do? I have a sho

Okay.... I got it fixed! I didn't have to uninstall Firefox. I did uninstall the Sun Java. Then I went to the Sun Java site, and downloaded the Java Runtime from there, and manually installed it. (I checked the option that included the Java sound on the parts I wanted to install.) I then went into the advanced features of Internet options and disabled the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine, and enabled the Sun Java. And, voila! POGO now works be

Thank you elessart and Hazylunarrain. I will uninstall as you suggest. Thank God I have broadband! I will have to re-install all of the extensions too...oh, well. My son actually set Firefox up for me last weekend when he was here visiting...but, I can do it by myself, I think...lol!

It is the Sun Java Console plug in that got downloaded. I am assuming/hoping that if I uninstall that, that the Sun Jave itself would still be on my computer. I went to the forums on Firefox, but couldn't find any answers there.

To make changes to the blinds, you need Skin Studio. If you have it, load the skin into it, make your changes, then be sure to save the changes (file menu, save) in Skin Studio. Then apply the changes. If you don't save the changes, then the skin will default to the original skin settings. If you just want to recolor the skin without changing anything in the skin itself, you can do that from the Windowblinds configuration window.

Are you using the overides to make the taskbar small? If you are, some of the skins will not show the tray icons on the right side. You can do a couple of things: 1. Make sure you have the "skin decides taskbar size" selected in the user overrides section in the Windowblinds configuration panel. Or, if you want to have a small taskbar, 2: If you have Skin Studio, you can resize the content margins in the taskbar. You would have to load the skin

Hi all, I just started using Firefox, and I love it! So much faster than IE. But, I ran into a glitch. While I was visiting my favorite online game site...POGO... Firefox said it needed to install the Sun Java extension. I let it do its thing, and when it was done, I closed and reopened Firefox to get the extension to function. Boopish, I'm glad the tip helped you. I, too, have backups of all of my wincustomize stuff....blinds, walls, icon packages, etc. I have them on a separate HD, and then about every month, I burn them to CD. I do this with all of my data. Incidentally, I did wind up having to uninstall/reinstall Icon Packager. It seems that one or more of the files in Icon Packager got corrupted. Everything is fine now, and I am a happy camper! <im

I just got my stuff fixed. I tried restoring the icons through Icon Packager, and rebuilding the Icon Cache through there to no avail. So, here's what I had to do: Rebuild Icon Cache through Tweak-UI. Stardock's rebuild did nothing. Load the Windows default icons. Uninstall Icon Packager, including all folders and themes,through Stardock Central. Re-boot. Re-install Icon Packager through Stardock Central. Re-install my t

Boopish, When you select the option to recolor icons in Icon Developer, you have to rename the set. What I do when I recolor icons is add the color name to the name of the icon set. For example, I want to recolor a set called purple folders. I renamed it light purple folders and selected the OK. Icon Developer will then will do its thing, and then open the set up. Then I recolored it and saved it when I was done. That way, I have the original

Boopish, Did you do a "save target as" when downloading the VS? You need to unzip the file before you open skin studio. When you open skin studio, click on file > open. On the tree on the left, click once on the Windows XP Visual Styles, then click on the browse button on the bottom of the left tree. Browse to where you unzipped the file, then click on the .msstyle file, and it should come up. Under the options tab in the window that pops up,

clwoods, I click once on the link, then cancel out, then RIGHT click on the preview, not the link, and do a save target as...I do this from inside the more info view. And, I get the zip file. I unzip the file, and it only has the .msstyles file in it, and the shell style folder. And if wallpaper and icons are included, they have folders as well.
