Empire Interactive In Takeover Talks

Company has 'A Number of Parties'

UK publisher Empire Interactive has confirmed reports that they are in the midst of takeover talks. The firm is currently talking to several unnamed suitors which could acquire the company through a stock purchase if a deal is brokered.

Empire released a statement to the City yesterday confirming, stating that it "is currently in discussion with a number of parties which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the company." Empire is best known for their Ford Racing franchise and for the PC budget company Xplosiv.

I believe they did.

All this consolidation is really quite troubling. The Post reported recently that Take-Two is looking for someone to buy them out as well, and Vivendi Universal been trying to sell their games division for years now.
