Insight into a developmental disorder

Asperger's Syndrome

http://storydad.co.nz
A few months ago I was fortunate enough to gain some free web space and had a go at creating a little place of my own on the web.
Now this does not have a great deal to do with health but I assure you that it will become apparent if you take the time to read the entire article.
I created my own website and very quickly discovered that I was not really ready to fill it with any credible nor intelligent content which I have discovered good content = successful site.
I found that I enjoyed the process rather than the result so decided to construct a website for my father which started off as a simple forum and has blossomed into a full and very powerful content management system with the help of some very nice software from simplemachines and mkportal.
I brought him a domain name and soon moved the entire site to paid hosting as the free hosting was just that free, although a very good service which I learned a great deal from it just was not cutting it.
OK still not really about health yet but I will get to that presently.
So i had helped another person get an smf forum set up and one of the members of this rapidly growing site started sending Personal Messages to members advertising his own site posting one liners and generally being a pest.
He was banned from the site and turned up on my dads site whilst I was doing a little routine maintenance and he contacted me and asked if I could 1,be his Friend and 2, help him with his own site.
I looked at his website and discovered that he was only a 16 year old boy and had worked his butt off all summer to buy a ibp forum and was hosted on invisionzone for a sum of money per month without his own domain name.
Well after a good week of careful thought and discussion with the lads mother I offered him some space on my hosting and If he was to buy a domain name I would host him for as long as he needed and would teach him some basic web skills giving him ½ hour lessons at least twice a week for as long as it took for him to learn (win win as I learn how to teach) so the website moved OK and as its a cms and easy for him to administrate I prepared for the first lesson even put a few notes down on paper and done a little research to ensure I was not leading him up the garden path.
I discovered within the first minute that something was not quite right as we conversed via IM and finally after an hour of frustrating confusion I asked him was there something that I should know about him to which he replied that he had Asperger's Syndrome.
OK I said whats that?
He told me and gave me a few links to what it was and rather than listen to me ramble on any longer I will give you the opportunity to take a look at an article this brave young man made on my dads website storydad Direct Link to the article which is a wonderful insight into Asperger's Syndrome.
oh and a shameless plug of this champions website Link
