Steelers Bring Joy, Bears bring Sorrow...oh, the drama!!

My boyfriend is a longtime, hardcore Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. Needless to say, he was affixed to the television today watching his beloved team play the Colts. Well, after a few scary moments when it seemed the Colts would benefit from the last minute Bettis fumble, the Colts' kicker missed the possible score tying field goal...and the Steelers triumphed. My boyfriend was overjoyed, thrilled, on cloud nine...he even came over to kiss me several times...I asked him, "Would you have kissed me right now if they had lost?" He replied, "Of course!" And then I said, "No really, would you have?" He then thought about it for a second and said, "Uhh, I don't know." :LOL:

On the flipside, there was anger and sadness over at my younger brother's place (I went over there for a gathering as soon as the Steelers game was over). He is a big time Chicago Bears fan...he was soo pumped up before the game, hoping that his Bears would once again beat the Panthers as they did earlier in the year. But, alas, it was not to be...He grumbled and sulked and sighed. If that wasn't bad enough, he went and lost a $100 bet...sigh...my brother and his bets...he seems to lose more than win...
Ah well...hope they do better next year for his sake...

So, best of luck to the Steelers next week, and here is hoping the Bears have an even better season next year.
(I prefer the Cowboys myself...I should give them well wishes, too..they need it! Too bad both my brother AND boyfriend hate these guys...)

I thought soap operas had all the drama....Sports isn't too far off!

I can believe how I went from being so happy (after Joey Porter sacked Peyton Manning on 4th down) to being scared we might lose one play later (when Jerome Bettis fumbled at the goal line and Ben Roethlisberger made a game saving tackle).

You might not believe it, but I knew deep in my heart that Mike Vanderjagt was going to miss the kick. Especially after they put a stat on TV on how many in a row he had made and how he was the most accurate kicker in NFL history. I just knew he'd miss after that. Kinda like in a basketball game and a player is shooting free throws. They show stats on how he's made his last 59 free throws in a row and he's one of the best percentage-wise shooting them, then preceeds to miss.

I knew Udigit was too good to be true!  Boo Steelers! Hiss!  Snark! Boo!

Actually, I was rooting for them yesterday.  I have nothing against the colts, I just like the underdog, unless my team is playing.

Aaaaaaaw... I was hoping the Colts would take it, mostly because I like Tony Dungee and have a very soft spot in my heart for him right now. I can't beleive Vanderjagt missed that kick. Felt like all the air got deflated out of my optimism balloon. Ah, well...

I generally like the underdog too... guess I might have to start rooting for the Steelers. *sniff, sniff* Still depressed over my Pats' loss. Heck... that wasn't football. It was Capture the Flag.

I believe ya...I was chanting, "Miss the kick." in my head for your sake. You are STILL giving me huge smiles over that win yesterday, btw....look at that extra twinkle in your dimples!

Doc, I used to Dislike the Steelers...but I've found myself rooting for them alongside my guy here... The only time I won't root for them is when they play the Cowboys, though (sorry, honey).

If they weren't playing the Steelers, I would have gone for the Colts, too. I still think they've got alot to be proud of...they had an Awesome season! I'm glad Tony Dungee decided to participate in the remainder of the season. I think it has helped in the healing process...he has been shown alot of love and support by his staff, players, and fans.

I have nothing against the Colts either. I like Tony Dungy. I just hope the same thing doesn't happen to him in Indy as it did in Tampa. Build a Super Bowl team then watch another coach win it with the team you made.
