Midway Games has crushed rumors, including its own confirmation that internal development house Stainless Steel Studios has been closed. Reports began circulating in late November 2005 that the house behind Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War had closed down due to Midway's recent disappointing financial results.

It now appears that Midway has resurrected the title and development house with a few creative changes and a new release date set at June 2006. The success or failure of Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War will most likely match the studio's fate.

First cyan dieing then coming back now SS. Is the only video game company that's going to stay dead acclaim?  Still I'm happy they're back, is everyone back on the project, or are those creative changes firings?

Well Acclaim isn't dead anymore, remember the story about someone buying the name and ressurecting them as an MMO importer? So yea no one will stay dead unless EA buys them out and shuts them down.

They haven't said what the 'creative changes' are at all.
