Secret Court unaware of Bush Eavesdropping

Secret Court unaware of Bush Eavesdropping

They want answers

The Secret Federal Court was NOT informed that Bush had authorized bypassing the court and allowing the NSA to wire tap Americans without abiding by the 1978 law. The court is also concerned about Warrants that they have granted and if some of them were tainted by the Bush plan.

The issue is does Bush have the authority to ignore the FISA requirement to obtain a warrant for the NSA to wire tap? YES or NO!

I say again, you and I both need to wait for the investigation to bear fruit. Since neither you nor I are constitutional lawyers, nor do we have complete information regarding the exact activities in question, it is irresponsible to do anything but patiently wait it out.

I agree but that question NEEDS an answer!

Here is another source. Russell Tice 20 year NSA operative that worked in the section that spied on conversations around the world.

From col's "article".

The NSA revoked Tice's security clearance in May of last year based on what it called psychological concerns and later dismissed him.

That is correct. That may not alter the facts that he disclosed. He may have been terminated because the NSA officials believed he was likely to make public what has been going on. The process Tice discussed is NOT the scope that Bush said was taking place. His information was very plausible.

The other issue is does this practice violate the law. Judge Alito said yesterday that the President MUST obey the law. Thus a key issue that MUST be established is, did GWB violate the Law?

Your speculating Col, you have no proof of this. That is what you need to understand. Make all the stories you want and take out of context anything you read or hear but in the end we don't have enough info to say YES or NO. "That may not alter the fact", did you ever consider that it may alter the fact? It works both ways until one is proven.

Judge Alito said yesterday that the President MUST obey the law.

That doesn't mean he broke it, they are speculating as well. Otherwise they would have already been accusing him as oppose to asking questions.

Thus a key issue that MUST be established is, did GWB violate the Law?

And you keep asking this why? How many times does it have to be said to you as singrdave said here:

Some people here are not saying Bush is innocent or guilty, they want to wait for answers as well.

Oh lookie here...

From today's Washington Post:

The National Security Agency's inspector general has opened an investigation into eavesdropping without warrants in the United States by the agency authorized by President Bush after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, according to a letter released late yesterday.

The Pentagon's acting inspector general, Thomas F. Gimble, wrote that his counterpart at the NSA "is already actively reviewing aspects of that program" and has "considerable expertise in the oversight of electronic surveillance," according to the letter sent to House Democrats who have requested official investigations of the NSA program.

Gimble's letter appears to confirm that an internal investigation into the NSA's domestic eavesdropping program, authorized by Bush in a secret order revealed in recent weeks, is underway. The Justice Department has opened a separate criminal investigation into the leak of the highly classified program's existence.

This man spent 20 years of his life spying on conversations at the NSA. I think he would know what he is talking about!

.

Of course col. It was a conspiracy to silence him.

I think he would know what he is talking about!

Col, you don't have no idea who this guy is or what his motives are. You are talking about someone who was fired for mental reasons.

Now you ask the question. Every other post you said he did violate the law. Make up your mind col.
