MMO Developer Lacks Funding to Continue

Another MMO developer has called it quits after they were unable to obtain additional funding for development. Smiling Gator Productions, developer of the now canceled Twilight War: After the Fall has stated that their website and email will shutdown in the coming days and the company is effectively closed until additional funding can be found. As of press time the website failed to respond but SGP plans to make a comeback in hopes to finish out their current 17 month development cycle on Twilight War: After the Fall.

Is it just me or am I the only one who never heard of this game until this news article?  I'm thinking that we're almost at the point where there are too many mmo games out or coming out.

I'd never heard about it. There are literally dozens of active MMOs on the market right now that I'd wager most people have never heard of.

Everyone is trying to get on the MMO bandwagon because if you can do it well its a constant stream of income. No matter how small that maybe most developers would die for it. Just look how many developers have to shutdown because they lack financing.

In short, yes I agree there are too many.
